Heartbroken Fox News host returns to studio after loss of husband

A Fox News anchor has made her on-air comeback after experiencing the profound loss of her husband.

Anita Vogel, aged 56, reflected on the past year, describing it as “the hardest of times” following the Southern California wildfires and the death of her husband, Mark Rozells.

Vogel shared her emotional journey on X, stating, “2025 was a heartbreaking and tragic year for our family. After surviving the Palisades Fire in January, we then lost my beloved husband to complications of pancreatic cancer in October.”

She expressed, “It has been the hardest of times for our family. I’ve taken several months off to cope with the unimaginable loss, and by the grace of God, we are moving forward one day at a time.”

Vogel announced her return to the Big Weekend Show, indicating her readiness to resume her duties.

She mentioned that “part of the healing journey” includes “gradually returning to work to help restore a sense of normalcy.”

‘We kept this very quiet but thank you to friends and family for your all your support. I’m looking forward to a great show tonight with the most lovely cast. Thanks to all the loyal fans who always tune in and we’ll see you tonight,’ she said.

Fans of Vogel, a reporter with the network for nearly 24 years, flooded her comments with supportive messages.

‘So many of us that watch and appreciate your talent as a news person are wrapping their arms around you and your family,’ one user wrote. ‘I can only imagine how proud your husband was of you.’

Vogel responded by saying, ‘Thank you Margaret. Such a kind thing to say.’

‘Welcome back Anita! May God bless you and your family. You will be in my prayers,’ one comment read.

‘I will keep you in my prayers @AnitaVogel. I understand all to well, I lost my husband of almost 50 years very suddenly on November 2, 2025. I am lost, I am heart broken. God bless you and your family,’ another user wrote.

Vogel responded: ‘I am so so sorry Pam – May God give you comfort.’

‘So sorry for your loss. Pancreatic cancer sucks. I lost 2 sisters in 2 years to this cancer,’ another said.

Fox and Friends weekend co-host Griff Jenkins wrote on X: ‘Our hearts break for my colleague @AnitaVogel during this difficult time. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.’

She returned on air with her co-hosts Lisa Marie Boothe, Joey Jones and Gianno Caldwell on Saturday’s evening segment.

The show addressed current hot topics, including the arrest of former CNN host Don Lemon and Tom Homan’s presence in Minnesota amid protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In a tribute to her husband on the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy foundation, Vogel said his death was something they ‘never saw this coming.’

‘Mark was a college athlete, always fit, always eating a healthy diet, never smoked and had no family history of this disease. Pancreatic cancer is a silent killer that steals people who often don’t have a single symptom until it is too late,’ Vogel’s tribute said.

‘We miss him so much it hurts… Mark had so many amazing traits, but he was always known for his incredible humility. In honor of Mark, try to do one thing this week in a humble manner and think of Mark. It will make you smile.’

Rozell left behind his wife and four children, his father, stepmother, and two sisters.
