HGTV star sets record straight on marriage after engagement to new man

Leslie Davis, known for her role on HGTV’s Unsellable Houses, has announced her divorce from husband Jacob, following a surprising revelation of her engagement to another individual.

This Wednesday, Davis took to Instagram to share her excitement about accepting a marriage proposal from Don Reidy, a carpenter and fellow HGTV personality. The two crossed paths in 2023 while filming an episode of Rock the Block.

Many fans were taken aback by the news, as Davis had not previously disclosed her separation from Jacob, with whom she shares three sons: Kyler, Cash, and Cole.

To clarify the situation, Davis released a blog post on Friday, revealing that she and Jacob, her high school sweetheart, ended their marriage in 2022.

Despite their split, Davis praised Jacob as an exceptional father and expressed that they have successfully collaborated in co-parenting their children.

In her message on her website, Lamb & Co, she explained, “With numerous changes, our main focus was always to protect our family, which is why I chose to keep this part of my life private. And seriously, who even announces a divorce anyway LOL!”

She acknowledged fans ‘have a lot of questions,’ writing: ‘I have chosen to keep this part of my personal life private, a hard thing to do as someone with a show on HGTV.’

Jacob had ‘chosen to stay out of the public eye,’ but he and Davis privately split in 2022 ‘to create a happy, loving, and stable home to raise our three boys,’ she wrote.

She insisted she and her ex-husband ‘will always share love for each other, just now in a new way, we have learned to become the best teammates, to lean on each other, to support each other’s new adventures, and always put our boys first.’

Davis rose to fame on the HGTV program Unsellable Houses, which she has been co-hosting with her twin sister Lyndsay Lamb since 2019.

During the early seasons, she was still married to Jacob, who made sporadic appearances on the reality show before their split in 2022.

She first became acquainted with her new fiancé Don Reidy while were both filming an episode of HGTV’s Rock the Block in Florida in 2023, she revealed this week.

Rock the Block gathers stars from various other HGTV shows, gives them houses on the same block to renovate, and makes them compete to see which one can increase the financial value of his property the most.

‘Through the stressful days, endless hours, and lots of laughs in between, we became best friends and continued to stay in touch post-filming,’ Davis recalled.

Although Reidy was living in Colorado and Davis was based in Snohomish, Washington, they began dating long distance.

A year into their romance, he moved to Snohomish, and this week he proposed to her during a snowmobile ride in Leavenworth, Washington in the presence of her sons.

She ecstatically announced her engagement on Instagram this Wednesday, hailing Reidy as ‘my safe place, my teammate, and my favorite adventure buddy.’

Looking back on the trajectory of their relationship, she wrote: ‘What started as a friendship during one of the wildest experiences of my life turned into true love. We were in it together then… and now we’re in it together forever.’
