There’s no wrath like that of a Swiftie who feels slighted. During today’s episode of The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is known for her admiration of Taylor Swift, responded to conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro’s remarks where he labeled the pop star as “middle-aged” and “elderly.”

In a recent installment of The Ben Shapiro Show, Shapiro criticized artists such as Swift and Jennifer Lopez. He chastised Lopez for her American Music Awards performance where she kissed her backup dancers, accusing them of trying to appear younger than their actual age to stay relevant. Shapiro referred to them as “middle-aged” while accusing them of pretending to be teenagers.

Meanwhile, Joy Behar and Griffin were quick to remind audiences that Lopez is only 55, while Swift is 35.

“I mean, elderly, 55? Really? That is the dumbest statement I’ve heard all year,” Behar snarked.

Griffin, who shares the same birth year as Swift, humorously remarked, “I’m heading out to protest wherever Ben Shapiro records his show because he labeled Taylor Swift as middle-aged and elderly. She’s 35, as we were both born in 1989. Meanwhile, Ben Shapiro is 41 years old.”

The conversation on The View occurred minutes before Swift announced that she was finally able to purchase the rights to her first six albums, which had been sold off when music manager Scooter Braun purchased the record label she was signed to, Big Machine Records.

“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: all of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs … to me,” Swift wrote in a letter to her fans this morning, noting that she also owns all of her music videos, album art, and unreleased songs.

With that being said, Ben Shapiro’s snarky comments are probably the last thing Swift is thinking about right now.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
