A man died of injuries from a homicide in a City Heights park early Saturday, San Diego police reported.
Officers responded to a call of a man downon a bike path in Teralta Park just after 3 a.m., according to a press release.
The 31-year-old man was unresponsive and had unspecified injuries to his upper body. The man appears to have been walking in the area of the park on the corner of Central and Polk avenues when he collapsed, and police said little else was known about the circumstances leading up to his death, according to the press release.
Officers performed life-saving measures until San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel arrived. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are investigating the incident. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of his family, and police say there is no suspect yet.
