With a Hollywood screenwriter for a father, a Spice Girl mother and an F1 boss as her stepdad, she has the connections to launch herself straight into a career in anything from pop music to acting, or go down the ‘influencer’ route of turning herself into a brand.

But despite her showbiz credentials, not to mention family money, Geri Halliwell’s daughter Bluebell, 18, seems to be the very antithesis of a nepo baby, and is forging her own path well away from the limelight.  

The teenager is studying English literature at university, and is – according to her mother – such a talented writer, that she even looks over Geri’s work while she forges her own second career as a young adult novelist. 

While she’s appeared by her famous mother’s side at a handful of public events, they seem to have been carefully chosen for prestige rather than publicity, such as the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. 

Speaking to the Sunday Times this weekend, the 52-year-old the singer revealed that her daughter has been ‘formally adopted’ by Geri’s husband Christian Horner after a heartbreaking rift with her biological father Sacha Gervasi. 

Bluebell was conceived during a six-week fling in 2005, but the Hollywood screenwriter – whose work has been directed by Steven Spielberg – appears to have had very little to do with his daughter.  

When he married banking heiress Jessica de Rothschild – heiress to a £450 million fortune and a successful theatre producer – in 2010, Bluebell was not in attendance, and Geri has spoken of raising her daughter as a ‘single mother’ before she met Horner. 

It’s previously been suggested that Gervasi did want to be involved in his daughter’s life, with reports prioer to Bluebell’s birth suggesting that Geri had frozen him out and had deliberately flown to the UK to have her baby to make it harder for him to fight for parental rights.

But while no one would blame Bluebell – who has Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton as godmothers – for seeking a life as glam and exciting as her very talented parents’, the teenager instead has laid low, and focused on getting good grades. Geri and Bluebell in 2020

A friend said that while he was initially ‘shocked and angry’ over the unplanned pregnancy, he was ‘devastated’ by the idea of not knowing his child. 

‘I fully intend to give Geri and the baby all the love and support they need,’ he said in a short statement. 

The former Spice Girl has been tight lipped about what became of his relationship with his daughter, but given that Horner has officially adopted Bluebell it seems safe to say that her bond with her stepfather is much stronger.   

However, she seems very determined not to trade on the connections that could easily pave the way for a showbiz career.

‘SO proud of you Blue!’ she gushed, sharing a photo of her child smiling as she reads her results. ‘All A*!! 9 GCSEs! You inspire me! Girl power!!!!!’

It is not known where she is currently studying – but Geri insists she’s ‘brilliant’ at writing.

Bluebell, who has not had much of a public or social media presence despite her A-lister mother, is also understood to be as family-focused as Geri herself. 

‘We prefer eating in – our daughter loves cooking,’ the star told the Times. 

Referring to her son Monty, eight, and Christian’s daughter Olivia, 11, from his first marriage, she said: ‘The other two will clear the table for financial reward.’

Bluebell is also rarely seen with her mother at events – having most recently joined her mother at the Burberry Winter 2025 show during London Fashion Week, sporting a simple and understated black trench coat.

Another reason for Bluebell’s reluctance to embrace the limelight may lie in the drama that’s surrounded the family in the past year, after Christian, 51, was cleared of ‘inappropriate, controlling behaviour’ toward a female colleague and an alleged role in a ‘texting’ scandal.

Geri stood by her husband after the explosive accusations rocked the Formula One paddock last year. Horner has vehemently denied the claims. 

Screenshots of alleged WhatsApp messages between Horner and a Red Bull employee were leaked anonymously the day after a three-week investigation, carried out externally, cleared the 51-year-old of all allegations.

Christian Horner paid tribute to Bluebell on her 17th birthday saying she’s turning into a ‘beautiful young lady’ 

An independent lawyer interviewed Horner for almost nine hours, it is understood.

The file allegedly containing texts and images was leaked to almost 200 people involved in the sport, including owners Liberty Media, team principals and the media.

Horner was then exonerated for a second time after the female employee appealed against the findings of the investigation, which were upheld. 

The couple mixed in social circles before they struck up their romance, having first met each other at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2009.

They tied the knot in 2015, and share a son – Monty – eight. Christian also has a daughter – Olivia, eleven, from a previous relationship.

She explained that while she needed ‘broad shoulders’ to raise Bluebell as a single parent, she later struggled when ‘learning how to be a team’.

Geri told Giovanna: ‘I’ve experienced both and I can tell you that, yeah I had my mother to help me with Blue. So I’m very grateful. And her granddad is gorgeous so it was a fantastic role model for her. 

‘He takes her to football, which is amazing and I think you know, they both have their blessings and challenges. 

‘Being a single parent, mother you don’t have to answer to anyone, but it’s all on you. And that can be quite stressful and you have to be responsible. All the responsibilities are on you in every way. 

‘Broad shoulders are needed and sometimes it’s lonely. So I’ve experienced that. And then, you know, having the blessing of having a lovely husband or partner, which I’ve experienced. That’s amazing.

‘So it’s not all on you, but then you’ve got to compromise, we might have, you know, we’re all different in the way we think things should be done. So learning to be a team, which has been a challenge for me.’
