Danny Miller has earned star status with his long-standing role on Emmerdale and now his position on the I’m A Celeb roster.

Yet the soap star is not the only celebrity in his family, as his father is Vince Miller, who was nicknamed the King Of Comperes after working as a leading VIP host at Manchester United for almost 30 years.

Vince is beloved in the football team and counts legendary boss Alex Ferguson among his pals, while he also hit headlines in March 2017 when he was forced out of his job for calling a waitress ‘love’ and putting his arm around the staff member.

Danny, who plays Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap, has already become a fan favourite on the show – akin to his father’s popularity in the football club.

Throughout his illustrious career, Vince mixed with Dame Shirley Bassey, Johnny Mathis, and gave the eulogy at comedian Bernard Manning’s funeral.

He also used to interview friend Alex on match days.

In 2017, Vince left the club after a hostess complained he put his arm around her at a match. He said he ‘retired with dignity’ from his role as compare in the club’s corporate suites after the complaint in September of that year.

He announced that he was concluding his 65-year showbiz career that launched when he was a singer in a band at the age of 16.

He said: ‘I’ve had a great career, I’ve done it all as a presenter, comedian, singer, I’ve been very fortunate. As Edith Piaf said, Je Ne Regrette Rien, no regrets!’

Father-of-nine Vince added: ‘I’ve no upset about it, the time is now to get out while you’re on top, you don’t want people saying ‘not him again’!’

A hostess told The Sun: ‘He’s an old-school gentleman who’s been working for the club for as long as people can remember and absolutely adores his job.

‘He is devastated at losing it and no-one can believe the club has treated such a lovely old guy in this manner…

‘Fergie loves him to pieces and will no doubt be astonished to hear about what has happened after what seems to be such an innocuous incident.’

A Manchester United spokesman said: ‘All of our lounges receive feedback from fans that enjoy the facilities on match day.

‘As a result of the feedback we received in the Old Boardroom over a period of time, we have changed the offering to supporters in that room and part of that change has meant a change in room host.’
