Andrew Tate, an “influencer” who was banned from Twitter because of racist, homophobic, and misogynist comments and allowed back on by new CEO Elon Musk, has been released from a Romanian jail to home arrest while authorities continue to investigate sex trafficking charges against him and his brother.
Andrew and Tristan Tate failed in two previous attempts to appeal extensions to their time in jail.
“They will be placed under house arrest while the investigation continues,” a spokesperson told TMZ.
The brothers were arrested in December just after Andrew Tate got into a Twitter spat with environmental activist Greta Thunberg, as CrimeOnline previously reported. He had been banned from Twitter for his vile and offensive tweets in 2017, but Musk allowed him back on the social media platform with a host of others.
