Harry Kane, England’s all-time top scorer, eats beans and bacon for breakfast like any regular fan – and is incredibly down-to-earth.

They’re two of the heartwarming revelations to emerge as he leaves behind the £3,500-per-night Mandarin Oriental hotel he has stayed in since joining Bayern Munich in the summer.

Kane is moving to a place of his own in the New Year alongside his wife Katie, their four children, and perhaps his father, mother, brother, and his kids’ two nannies.

The establishment’s general manager, Dominik Reiner, waxed lyrical about the former Tottenham man when asked to reflect on his time in the hotel.

‘He was definitely one of the most popular regular guests we’ve ever had,’ he told Suddeutsche Zeitung via Bild.

Reiner described him as ‘definitely one of the top five’ guests ever – just behind Queen Elizabeth II.

He added: ‘The Kanes have not withdrawn, on the contrary. They were very open, very approachable.

According to the hotel manager, Kane ‘definitely always’ ordered a typical English breakfast of bacon and beans in a reliance on home comforts, though for his evening meal he would turn to more exotic sushi and sashimi.

As per Bild, Kane was given a discount on a 120-metre squared room for £3,500 per night.

His new home in a southern suburb of the city will have a lot to offer, according to the German newspaper.

He and his family will be able to enjoy a whirlpool, a spa area, and a terrace with nature views.

The commute to Bayern’s training ground won’t be too strenuous, as he’ll be situated just nine miles away.

Club legend Mehmet Scholl and Lucas Hernandez have formerly called the villa home.

It can often take players and managers a long time to settle after moving to an unfamiliar country.

Even Jose Mourinho was often derided for living in a hotel during his Manchester United tenure, its impermanence used as a stick to beat him with.

However, Kane hasn’t had any teething problems and has scored 25 goals in 22 games, adapting to Bundesliga life seamlessly.

In humble fashion, his valedictory message to hotel staff paid tribute to them helping him to settle.

He wrote: ‘A big thank you to the hotel staff for making me feel at home since moving to Munich. They played a big part in helping me settle in so well.’
