A man was detained by members of the United States Secret Service after attempting to scale a White House fence on Monday.
An extraordinary photo captured the moment the man, wearing reflective blue tinted sunglasses, a blazer and a tie, was escorted by two agents.
He was placed in handcuffs as he was led from the grounds and placed under arrest for unlawful entry.
A U.S. Secret Service spokesperson told the Daily Mail the incident occurred about 4.55pm.
‘An individual climbed over the fence on the southeastern side of the U.S. Treasury Building and was apprehended by officers from the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division for unlawful entry,’ the spokesperson reported.
‘He was subsequently transported to Metropolitan Police Department’s 2nd District for processing. There was no impact to our protective operations.’
The incident occured as a group of protesters in Washington DC railed against the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The two leaders were convening to discuss Israel’s conflict with Hamas, after which Trump introduced an ambitious 20-point peace initiative, proposing that he lead a ‘board of peace’ to oversee Gaza’s future.

Netanyahu shakes hands with Trump after a news conference in the State Dining Room of the White House
Trump declared at a press conference at The White House it was a ‘big day, a beautiful day’ and ‘potentially one of the greatest days ever in civilisation.’
The plan, which the MAGA leader has circulated to Arab leaders, was released after the Washington meeting.
The leaders arrived late to the press conference, having first reviewed the details of the proposal, which still requires finalization with Netanyahu, Arab leaders, and Hamas.
‘Let’s call it eternal peace in the Middle East,’ Trump proclaimed with confidence. ‘This exceeds all expectations, and the support I’ve received from Middle Eastern nations and Israel’s neighbors has been remarkable.’
Trump mentioned that Netanyahu approved the peace proposal, which includes an immediate ceasefire, disarmament of Hamas, and Israeli withdrawal.
He heaped praise on Netanyahu standing beside him for ‘agreeing to the plan’ telling him: ‘This will be your crowning achievement.’
He praised a team, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, for their efforts on the Gaza peace deal, stating: ‘I don’t believe anyone else could have achieved this or even come close.’
The American leader also labelled Netanyahu a ‘warrior’ and said that Israel was ‘lucky to have him.’

‘I understand and respect his position on many things, but what he’s doing today is so good for Israel.
‘I notice that, they have large crowds gathering in Israel all the time and they have my name up, they like me for whatever reason.’
After marshalling support across Arab and Muslim nations in recent days, before getting Netanyahu onside, he said Hamas are ‘the only one left’ to accept.
The terror group will be given 72 hours to agree and release all 48 hostages – both the 20 living and the 28 bodies.
But if they do not, Trump warned ‘Israel would have the absolute right and actually our full backing… to finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas.’
He said approval from all sides was ‘beyond very close’.
Netanyahu said ‘this can be done the easy way or it can be done the hard way, but it will be done’ as he vowed Israel would ‘finish the job by itself’ if Hamas rejected the deal.
