Jack Osbourne disclosed on a podcast that he and his sister Aimee were ‘not close at all,’ in a conversation held weeks before they came together for their father Ozzy’s funeral.
The Osbournes debuted in 2002 on MTV, chronicling the lives of Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and two of their children, Jack and Kelly.
Aimee, the eldest of Jack and Kelly, opted not to participate in the reality series as she was pursuing her own path in the music industry.
In the Disrespectfully podcast, Jack, 39, commented: ‘At the time, she aimed to be a musician with a style akin to Fiona Apple or Mazzy Star, embodying a more mysterious and moody persona…
She viewed appearing on MTV as something beneath her ambitions, stating, “I’m not going to be seen riding coat-tails.” That was her perspective.
When the show became a big hit, she felt it further confirmed her decision not to join, as she didn’t want to appear as though she was capitalizing on its success. She chose to maintain her privacy and remain out of the spotlight.’

Aimee, pictured at her father’s funeral, chose not to appear on the family’s fly-on-the-wall reality show in the early noughties and moved out of home at 16
While Aimee has remained away from the limelight compared to her siblings, the 41-year-old has previously released music under the name ARO, which is her initials.
Jack revealed on the podcast they weren’t on close terms when he was quizzed on whether Aimee regretted not taking part in the family’s reality series.
He admitted: ‘I’ve never had the conversation with her, we’re not close at all. We don’t have a great relationship, she’ll be the first to tell you that, so it’s no secret.
‘I’ve never asked her outright, “Do you regret it’” I think there must be a level of like, “Hey, my life would have probably been different than what it is if I’d done that”, so I don’t know, I think I would feel like I would have regretted it.’
Aimee courageously put herself in the spotlight for her beloved father at his funeral procession last month.
The Black Sabbath rocker died aged 76 on July 22 and his funeral cortege travelled through his hometown of Birmingham, passing thousands of fans who lined the streets.
Her brave decision to step into the limelight and pay respects with the world also forced her to put differences aside with her estranged sister Kelly.
Kelly and Aimee have had a fraught relationship for years, but were pictured with their devastated mother and brother for the rock legend’s send off.

In recent years the vastly-different siblings had admitted they weren’t on speaking terms, with Kelly saying in an interview they just ‘didn’t understand each other.’
Kelly, who appeared on the Dax Shepard podcast Armchair Expert, revealed in 2021 that she and her older sister had been estranged for a long time.
‘We don’t talk,’ Kelly said. ‘We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand her.’
Meanwhile, back in 2015 Aimee shared with The Independent that her and Kelly were not on close terms.
‘I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance,’ she said. ‘Do we socialize? No.’
Sharon previously admitted she was devastated when Aimee moved out, saying on The Talk in 2018: ‘She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea – it was appalling to her.
‘And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.’
Ozzy shared daughters Kelly and Aimee, as well as son Jack, with his wife of 43 years Sharon, and also had three children, Louis, Jessica and Eliot, from his first marriage to wife Thelma Riley.
