Jane Fonda, 88, is pushed in wheelchair at airport

Jane Fonda made a stylish yet unexpected entrance at Los Angeles International Airport this week, as she was seen being assisted in a wheelchair before catching her flight out of the city.

The 88-year-old Hollywood icon, who remains active in her roles as both actress and activist, showcased her timeless glamour during the airport outing.

Draped in an elegant fur coat, Fonda shielded her eyes from the California sun with a chic pair of bronze-tinted butterfly sunglasses.

She complemented her sophisticated look with gold jewelry, including rings and earrings, while her silver hair was styled in a curly bob reminiscent of the 1950s.

Fonda’s radiant skin, which she has openly credited to cosmetic surgery, was highlighted with subtle makeup, enhancing her youthful appearance.

An airline staff member assisted by pushing the wheelchair, as Fonda carried two small bags on her lap and her other luggage was transported on a trolley.

The Daily Mail has contacted Fonda’s representatives for comment.

The 9 to 5 star’s sighting comes weeks after she revealed she saw Rob and Michele Reiner the night before their murder, for which their son Nick is awaiting trial.

Fonda and the Reiners had all been guests at Conan O’Brien’s star-studded Christmas party on the evening before the bodies were discovered, allegedly by the late couple’s daughter Romy, 28, who lived across the street.

Nick, 32, who had a history of substance abuse and was also reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia, is said to have argued fiercely with his parents at the party.

Fonda however made no mention of any family dispute when she shared her own memories of seeing the Reiner couple on the final night of their lives.

‘Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,’ she wrote on Instagram the day after they were found dead.

‘They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them the night before last looking healthy and happy. I am reeling with grief. Stunned.’

The Committee for the First Amendment was originally founded in 1947 by Fonda’s movie star father Henry Fonda in response to the Hollywood blacklist of communist talent during the Red Scare. His daughter relaunched the organization late last year.

At the party Fonda attended with the Reiners, Nick was seen having what sources described as a ‘very loud argument’ with his parents, according to TMZ.

Michele, by that point, was alleged to have spent months telling friends about trying to cope with Nick’s drug and mental problems, saying: ‘We’ve tried everything.’

‘Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,’ a source told People while describing the party.

One insider told the Daily Mail: ‘They got in an argument, the father and son. It got so bad and loud someone wanted to call the police to report it.’

The source added that ‘Conan stepped in and said: “It’s my house, my party, I’m not calling the police.” He talked them out of calling the police.’

Jane Fonda and Rob Reiner were both showbiz legacies – she as Henry Fonda’s daughter and he has the son of The Dick Van Dyke Show creator Carl Reiner.

Dick Van Dyke’s character on the sitcom was named Rob Petrie after Rob Reiner, who was 14 years old when the pilot episode aired on CBS.
