Last June, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez celebrated their union with a grand wedding in Italy, surrounded by a star-studded guest list.

Fast forward less than a year, and the Amazon founder, now 62, along with his Emmy-award-winning journalist wife, 56, continue to revel in wedded bliss. The couple has made several public appearances, including gracing the red carpet at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars party, and indulged in romantic outings in Paris, the famed City of Love.

This week, news emerged that Sánchez expressed a willingness to expand their family, revealing she would be ready to have a baby with Bezos “tomorrow.” For those familiar with the couple’s affectionate relationship, the announcement wasn’t entirely surprising.

A source shared exclusively with the Daily Mail that conversations about expanding their already large family have been ongoing. With a total of seven children between them, welcoming a new addition would symbolize the depth of their commitment to one another.

“Although their wedding was last year, Jeff and Lauren are still experiencing the joy of the honeymoon phase,” the source explained.

“Whether you label them as soulmates or something else, they truly seem meant for each other. Their love for one another and their blended family brings immense happiness to their lives.”

‘So, when it was mentioned that she would have a baby with him tomorrow, he ate it up and loved it. It’s what she tells him all the time as well.’

The former journalist’s candid baby admission was made during a wide-ranging New York Times interview published on Sunday. ‘I would have a baby tomorrow,’ Sanchez Bezos told the outlet, though her representative later had to phone the newspaper to confirm she was, in fact, not pregnant.

She waxed poetic about their daily lives as husband and wife living on their $90 million property on the private Miami island Indian Creek, often referred to as ‘Billionaire Bunker.’

They do everything together; they start their day at 6am by listing aloud ten things they are grateful for, then playing pickleball and working out with a trainer six days a week.

They watch the sunrise together as they drink their morning coffee – hers from a mug that reads ‘Woke Up Sexy As Hell Again’ and his from a mug that spells ‘HUNK’ in symbols from the periodic table.

Sanchez Bezos went so far as to say they’ve transformed into a ‘unit’ since their three-day wedding extravaganza in Venice last summer.

‘I talk about everything with him,’ she said of her husband. ‘Everything! Jeff is my best friend and I don’t say that lightly.’

The source agreed that the couple, who have a combined estimated net worth of over $250 billion, are indeed each other’s soulmates. But when it comes to welcoming a baby together, the source suggested that any discussions of having children are simply meant to be symbolic of their love.

‘[Lauren’s comment] was said both in jest but seriously, to show the love she has for him,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.

‘They aren’t going to adopt a child or anything like that. It was said in a fun and loving way, because she is so in love with him and he shares the same love and respect for her,’ they continued.

‘Jeff loves her, and bringing up having kids is just the icing on the cake.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Bezos and Sanchez Bezos for comment. 

Just nine months ago, Bezos and Sanchez Bezos displayed their love for the world during an extravagant wedding celebration in Venice, which cost an estimated $15 million to $20 million.

It was also a family affair, as Sanchez Bezos included her three children from two previous relationships in the ceremony. She was walked down the aisle by her sons Nikko Gonzalez, 25, and Evan Whitesell, 19, while her 18-year-old daughter Ella Whitesell was her maid of honor.

The couple tied the knot on San Giorgio Maggiore island in front of nearly 200 guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Ever since, Bezos and Sanchez Bezos have continued to rub shoulders with Hollywood stars.

Earlier this year, the couple hit up Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, where they sat front row at the Schiaparelli show and stayed at the $2,000-a-night Hotel de Crillon.

Over the New Year’s holiday, they partied with DiCaprio and his supermodel girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti aboard their $500 million superyacht, the Koru – the same vessel where Bezos popped the question with a cushion-cut pink diamond ring worth upwards of $2.5 million.

This May, they will expand their reign into the fashion world at the 2026 Met Gala. It’s been reported that the couple are footing the bill as honorary chairs for the annual fashion fundraiser.

Unsurprisingly, the billionaire couple’s involvement sparked widespread backlash as some fashion lovers declared they would be boycotting this year’s Met Gala.

Despite the backlash, however, it would seem that Sanchez Bezos ignores much of the criticism surrounding their lavish displays of wealth.

Instead, she revealed to the New York Times that she is 20 percent happier than the average person. Though, she maintained her permanent good mood has nothing to do with her extreme wealth.

‘If baseline is here,’ she said, holding her hand at her chest, ‘I’m up here,’ she said, with her other hand above her head.
