Recent photographs of Tommy Lee Jones, making his first public appearance since the devastating loss of his daughter, have sparked concern among those close to the actor.

Victoria Jones, aged 34, was tragically discovered unresponsive at San Francisco’s upscale Fairmont Hotel on New Year’s Day. While the official cause of her death remains unconfirmed, speculation points to a possible overdose, in light of her history with cocaine and alcohol abuse.

The latest images and video footage, shared by the Daily Mail, reveal the 79-year-old actor appearing noticeably fragile. In the footage, Jones can be seen relying heavily on his third wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, for support as he limps through San Antonio, Texas.

Close sources describe the Men In Black star as visibly shaken and not his usual self. “He is not himself right now,” shared an insider, noting the profound impact of his daughter’s passing.

“This has been a heartbreaking time for Tommy. Known for his tough exterior, the loss of a child has undeniably hit him hard,” the source continued.

Concerning new photos of Tommy LeeJones stepping out for the first time since his daughter’s tragic sudden death at age 34 have prompted insiders to speak out 

“Though he’s not currently working, which might have served as a distraction, he’s focusing on mourning. Despite his desire to age gracefully, the combined stress and grief have evidently taken a toll on his appearance,” the insider concluded.

Emergency services were called to the Fairmont hotel at approximately 2.52am on January 1, but attempts to revive Victoria were unsuccessful. 

Victoria had been at the hotel to ring in the new year with a small group of pals when, as one source claimed to TMZ, she started using cocaine. 

Law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail that her lips and fingernails appeared bluish when first responders arrived.

There were no immediate signs of foul play, no visible trauma to her body and no drug paraphernalia discovered nearby, the sources added. An autopsy is expected to provide further clarity.

On January 2, Tommy and his family released a brief statement, which read: ‘We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.’

In addition to Victoria, Tommy and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, share 43-year-old son Austin Leonard Jones.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Tommy for comment.

In the days since Victoria’s death, troubling details about her final months have begun to emerge, including run-ins with police.

The Daily Mail has exclusively obtained a June mugshot showing Victoria with what appears to be a bruise beneath one eye.

She was arrested twice last year. The first time in April 2025 after Napa Valley cops conducted a wellness check and charged her with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. 

She pleaded not guilty and had been scheduled to appear in court later this month for settlement hearings.

In June, she was arrested again following a domestic violence incident at Napa’s Carneros Resort and Spa, where rooms start at around $500 per night. 

Separate court filings reviewed by The Daily Mail also indicated Victoria had been accused of elder abuse. She pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.

Victoria was found dead on the 14th floor of the Fairmont San Francisco after a hotel guest reportedly mistook her for being intoxicated and alerted staff.

When employees arrived and found her unresponsive, they began CPR and called paramedics.

The Daily Mail obtained 911 audio from Broadcastify in which Victoria was described as a ‘code 3 for the overdose, color change,’ signaling an emergency response with lights and sirens.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department confirmed: ‘On 1/1/26 at approximately 3:14 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a hotel located on the 900 block of Mason Street regarding a report of a deceased person. 

At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.’

Victoria was born on September 3, 1991, and made her screen debut at age 11 with a small role in her father’s film Men in Black II.

She later appeared in a 2005 episode of One Tree Hill and in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was directed by her father.

Though she stepped away from acting as an adult, Victoria occasionally joined Jones on the red carpet, including at the 2017 premiere of Just Getting Started and the Tokyo International Film Festival later that year, where Jones served as president of the international competition jury.

After directing his daughter in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Jones praised her talents in interviews, calling her ‘a good actress’ who spoke ‘impeccable Spanish,’ and once shared a candid anecdote about briefly ‘firing’ her from the film when she refused to get out of bed for a 5 a.m. call time.
