Joshua Kippes and Pickle Wheat started their relationship at least in November 2022 because that was when the Swamp People star first shared her pregnancy. A few months later, posting her sonogram photos, Pickle took to her FB to write, “Many of you may already know, but if not, here’s some big news! We have a little lady coming in May! Whoever she may be, I hope the world is as kind to her as y’all are to me. Love you guys!”

In April 2023, the lovebirds then welcome their daughter Maemi Rae. “Southern moms be like “ I ain’t putting all that crap on my baby like everyone else does”…. Yet here we are! ???BABY MAEMI IS HERE,” Joshua shared the good news on IG.

Also, in a different post, she once labeled her daughter as a “raindrop on a rose pedal born from a stalk of thorns.”

Prior to Joshua, Pickle dated her Swamp People co-star Troy Landry. And before him, she was in a relationship with another co-star Chase Landry.

Fun Fact: Joshua’s daughter’s name “Maemi” in Japanese means “smile of truth.”

Was Joshua Kippes Previously Married?

Yes, Joshua Kippes was previously married to Rachel Elizabeth Kippes. Infact, the two only celebrated their anniversary in April 2019. They broke up sometime after that.

Before the divorce, Joshua felt like the luckiest man on earth as he believed his ex-wife was his soulmate. “Marry a girl who goes to all of your favorite restaurants, just to have all of your favorite appetizers waiting for you at home when you get off of work. Definitely, one of the lucky ones. Love you, Rachel Elizabeth Kippes. We are so lucky to have you in our lives and I couldn’t imagine life without you,” he once wrote on FB.

As for their kids, Joshua and Rachel share three children named Emerson, Addie, and Ben. Their youngest Emerson arrived in this world on September 6, 2018. “Rachel was so strong the entire delivery and I could not have asked for a better mommy for Emerson. Addie and Ben are loving their new little brother and can’t wait for him to be home,” he recalled.

His ex-wife, Rachel is a former Registered nurse at New Orleans East Hospital ER. Now, she works as an Emergency Room RN at Touro, New Orleans, Louisiana

Who Are Joshua Kippes Parents?

Joshua Kippes was born to his parents, Silvia Kippes North and Keith Kippes.

Sadly, his dad, Keith unexpectedly passed away on October 10, 2009, at the age of 54. He served as Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Harahan and devoted his life to the service of Christ and the church.

As for his mother, Silvia found love again and was in a relationship in 2023 (at the age of 64).

Talking about Joshua’s siblings, he has a brother named Kris Kippes and a sister named Kelly K Frustaci (born: July 1979).

Also, Joshua was close to his parents-in-law, Eddie and Missie Wheat who gifted him a pair of Xtratufs for Christmas 2022.

Joshua Kippes is an Emergency Medical Technician at New Orleans EMS.

In case of emergencies, his job was to perform CPR and ventilations while the paramedic crew would prepare the more advanced treatment like medications, intubation, etc.

Keep in mind, he’s an EMT, not a paramedic. A paramedic would make preparations based on what the patient needs and provide them as soon as the EMT is done with the initial steps to stabilize them.
