Jude Law’s former partner has responded to Chappell Roan’s assertions, challenging the singer’s denial that her security personnel were involved in an incident that reportedly left Law’s 11-year-old daughter distraught.
Jorginho, a former footballer for Chelsea and Arsenal and currently married to Catherine Harding, took to Instagram on Saturday. He claimed that Harding’s daughter with Jude Law, aged 53, was allegedly threatened by the bodyguard of the Pink Pony Club singer after encountering the star at a Brazilian hotel.
In response to the singer’s Instagram post, claiming it was not her security team and denying any instructions to engage with the child, who is believed to be Ada Law, Catherine Harding offered her perspective on the matter.
Harding posted on the social media platform, stating, “Although Chappell insists it wasn’t her security and she didn’t orchestrate the incident, I am certain this wasn’t a hotel security guard. He appeared to be an artist’s bodyguard.”
“I cannot confirm if he is her personal security, but he was in her company, and that’s all I know. Did she instruct him? I hope not, but as a celebrity, you are accountable for the actions of those representing you,” she added.
Harding further questioned, “Would he act without her authority? If so, that’s a significant issue, as he’s portraying her in an undesired manner.”
Jude Law’s ex has hit back at Chappell Roan’s denials that it was her own personal security guard who apparently left the actor’s 11-year-old daughter in tears
The singer took to her Instagram and insisted it was her not personal security and she did not ask anyone to approach the child who, was not named, but appears to be Ada Law
Catherine contained that Chappell was right to say she ‘didn’t notice anything’ because nothing happened and claimed all her daughter did was walk silently past the hitmaker’s table.
‘[My daughter] didn’t have her phone, she didn’t try to take a picture, she didn’t do anything, she just looked at [Chappell] and smiled’.
Catherine went on to recall how a security guard, who she described as ‘aggressive and intimidating’ soon came over to their table and ‘berated’ her for being a bad parent.
‘He said we should not harass people and all these other things and I did try to explain to him that he was a child and she was just excited to see an artist she liked’.
She explained to him that her daughter, who has a famous father and stepfather, understood ‘boundaries’ acceptable to people in the public eye, but said the security guard did not listen.
‘I hope [Chappell] did not know, I hope she did not send her security over to do this. I really think she is a very very talented artist we liked her a lot we came all the way to São Paulo to watch her show,
‘It was her birthday presented, she asked for tickets, it was a little bit ruined because we didn’t go to the show last night but that’s how it is’.
Before adding: ‘I hope that maybe if it wasn’t her that maybe she learns not to allow the people who work for her not to treat people like this’.
Meanwhile Catherine thanked Lewis Capaldi for his ‘kindness’ after he posed for a snap with the actor’s daughter on Sunday
Daily Mail have contacted Chappell Roan’s representatives for comment.
It comes after Chappell said in a video on her Instagram Story: ‘I’m gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard – who is not my personal security…
‘I didn’t even see. I didn’t even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me, no one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast at my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. So the fact that a security guard who is…
‘I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. They did not come up to me. I did not do anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe it as there’s no action been taken.
‘I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.
‘If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.’

She posted a snap of the tween as she beamed alongside the Scottish singer following his concert at Lollapalooza 2026 in São Paulo, which Chappell was headlining.
Lewis gave a thumbs up to the camera with Catherine also jumping in for a snap as she captioned the post: ‘Thanks for your kindness’.
