As the camera captured the emotional reactions of the Osbourne family, the frail appearance of Kelly Osbourne was impossible to ignore. Standing alongside her brother Jack and mother Sharon, Kelly’s visibly trembling and petite frame became the topic of hushed conversations.

Clad in a form-fitting, sleeveless black gown, Kelly’s strikingly thin arms drew immediate attention, sparking concern among fans and friends about her significant weight loss.

At the Brit Awards on February 28, her sharp cheekbones only intensified the public’s worry, prompting further discussion on social media and beyond.

Kelly has been candid about her weight loss journey, shedding 85 pounds following gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, and has dismissed speculation about using Ozempic. However, her current appearance has left many expressing concern.

A source who encountered Kelly at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party shared with the Daily Mail, “Seeing her in person was startling; she appeared even thinner, which was alarming. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen, even from someone who has known her for years.”

The insider continued, ‘The first thing I noticed is how her face looks hollow, making her cheekbones stand out. When she talks it looks different, like weird. She is gorgeous, but being that thin is hard.’

According to the source, ‘everyone was talking about her appearance,’ wondering ‘how much she weighs or if she was in danger.’

‘I don’t think God intended people to be that thin,’ the source added.

Even those close to Kelly are keeping a watchful eye, with a second source telling the Daily Mail that ‘nobody near her is looking to provide an intervention, but people have noticed and are monitoring it.’

‘Kelly is definitely not concerned with how she looks and would tell anyone that would bring it up to her to go screw off, but she does get upset over people talking about it,’ the source added.

‘She is very skinny. She has been working on her weight her entire life and the stress of her dad passing away has been a major struggle to deal with that is taking a toll on her look and health.’

‘I got pulled into the head of the agency’s office and he … gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better,’ she revealed on The Osbournes podcast last year.

She underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, calling it ‘the best thing I have ever done,’ and credited a combination of surgery, strict diet and high-intensity interval training for shedding 85lbs.

But pregnancy added another twist. When she was expecting son Sidney in 2022, Kelly gained around 100lbs and developed gestational diabetes, later admitting she avoided the spotlight because of it. 

‘She has told people that she got skinnier for her kid. She wants to be around for her kid and play and be with her kid for a long time, and now that she lost her dad, she sees that being something even more important,’ our second source said.

‘She doesn’t want to be the weight she used to be and she is going to do whatever she needs to do to stay skinny.’ 

Kelly has repeatedly fended off critics who scrutinize her dramatic transformation, most notably denying Ozempic rumors.

‘I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don’t know where that came from. My mom took Ozempic,’ she previously told Extra. 

Even so, the comparison to her mother Sharon, 73, has only fueled speculation.

The former X Factor judge was among the first celebrities to publicly confirm using the diabetes drug, after her dramatically slimmed-down appearance sparked widespread concern.

Though she was initially pleased with the results after starting the medication in December 2022, Sharon later admitted she feared she had taken it too far.

Sharon recently told the Daily Mail that she hasn’t regained any of the weight she lost while taking the drug and admitted she’s been left feeling ‘frustrated’ by the lingering effects.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with the way I look. But I’m now satisfied. It’s taken years for me to say this but I’ve learned my lesson. This is me. It’s finally time to leave well alone,’ she said.

Not long after her father’s passing in July, Kelly similarly addressed critics who took aim at her slender frame in a video shared to Instagram.

‘My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can,’ she said, in part.

‘The only thing I have to live for right now is my family. And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life not the miserable side of my life. So to all those people, f**k off.’

She most recently hit back at people who commented on her weight during London Fashion Week, and slammed the ‘cruel trolls’ who took aim at her appearance at the Brit Awards. 

‘There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,’ she wrote on Instagram following the ceremony.

‘Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.

‘None of it proves strength, it only reveals a profound absence of character. I’m currently going through the hardest time of my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way.’

Despite the scrutiny, those close to her say Kelly’s spark and sense of humor have not dimmed. 

The second source noted, ‘It is jarring seeing her, but friends and family still see that she is still her animated and jokey self. 

‘She loves being a mom and she has a zest for life, so once you start talking to her, her appearance goes away. 

‘But when you see her at first, you definitely notice the weight loss to be a bit extreme.’
