Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are front and center on the October cover of Vogue.
For the outdoor shoot, the longtime friends showcased contrasting styles with the reality star, 29, in a structured plaid coat while Hadid, 30, sported a striking patchwork dress.
Inside the issue, the two open up about the bond that’s carried them through the highs and lows of modeling, fame and life.
Hadid even recalls a tender moment from 2020, when she was newly pregnant and quietly confided in Jenner during a hectic backstage at Burberry.
‘You were one of the only people in the world that knew,’ Hadid said, detailing how Jenner was the person she confided in when she felt faint and needed a boost. ‘And Kenny was the only person I could look at from across the room and just be like, “Oh yeah, a soda.” And she got me a little can of Coke.’
That small gesture, Hadid noted, reflects the quiet trust between them that goes beyond the runway and magazine covers.

Marc Jacobs, who first cast Jenner in 2014, mentioned to the publication: ‘I see them as part of the same era in fashion. There was a craving for the supermodel element we remembered from the past… and with Kendall and Gigi, they exuded this fresh enthusiasm.’
Jeremy Scott, who memorably collaborated with both, commented: ‘They’re impressive individually, but even better together. I liken them to my salt and pepper shakers.’
He further reminisced about witnessing Hadid adjust Jenner’s collar during a hectic Moschino show in 2017: ‘All this chaos is erupting. It’s pandemonium, yet both of them remain so calm and grounding for each other.’
Simon Porte Jacquemus, who cast them in his viral Versailles show last year, sums it up perfectly: ‘Two of the leading supermodels of our generation, just two friends enjoying themselves and being playful like 12-year-olds.’
Jenner, who knew Hadid through her younger sister Bella, admitted she was initially ‘intimidated’ by Gigi’s beauty.
‘I was like, “She’s so gorgeous.” And I remember you posted this photo with your long blond mane. I think it was a black-and-white photo,’ Jenner confessed.
‘I had acne and braces. And, I remember seeing this photo and being like, “What the f**k?”‘
‘I was awkward too!’ Gigi insisted.

The two trace their closeness back to their teens, bunking together on early modeling trips.
‘I was your biggest fan,’ Kendall gushed. ‘And once we started to work together and do shows, I remember those early seasons—we would do the whole month together.’
Hadid added that she’ll never forget her first Chanel fitting in 2014, when Jenner helped calm her nerves before meeting Karl Lagerfeld in Paris.
Despite being inseparable, Hadid, who is dating Bradley Cooper, mused that they are rarely in synch romantically and always ‘in relationships at different times.’
‘We did have a double date situation once,’ Jenner pointed out. ‘Remember, a long time ago? We don’t need to go there.’
After Hadid admitted she forgot about that, Jenner attempted to jog her memory.
‘It’ll come to you. It wasn’t a double date. You tried to set me up. You were in a relationship and I was single and you were trying to set me up with someone to be part of your gang?’ she reminded her pal. ‘Do you not remember? Are you not picking up what I’m putting down? I’m not going any further. I’ll tell you later!’

When asked about the last time they cried in front of each other, Jenner answered: ‘Probably so long ago… Definitely not recently.’
‘It’s mostly when we’ve gone through boy stuff and we’re kind of at the end of that road. I feel like we’re both really strong people and not whiners and complainers, but we’re vulnerable when it’s the time to be,’ Hadid explained.
‘There is a lot of superficiality in the world that we work and live in,’ Jenner added. ‘And our personal lives have been of public interest as we’ve gotten older.’
While speaking about navigating fame, Gigi points out there is ‘so much [of her life] that isn’t shared online.’
‘I think of so many of the quiet moments that no one sees,’ Hadid told Jenner. ‘People don’t know a lot of the ways that we’re similar and the ways we find peace in each other.’
Once Jenner even managed to fly under the radar while joining Gigi on a trip to Holland, where they spent a day at Netherlands’ largest theme park, Efteling.

‘I was like, “She’s so gorgeous.” And I remember you posted this photo with your long blond mane. I think it was a black-and-white photo,’ Jenner confessed (seen in 2023)
‘[We] did an entire park day, fully incognito,’ Gigi raved. ‘Kendall’s really good at hiding in plain sight. She’s spontaneous that way. I know a lot of people who are privileged and successful and don’t live life to the fullest the way that Kendall does.’
Gigi also recalled an evening they shared in Paris, a decade ago, where they laid under the Eiffel Tower and drank wine.
‘I love to feel normal,’ Jenner explained. ‘I love to go to the horse show dressed just like everybody else and have my helmet on and my sunglasses and my uniform, and I can compete under a completely different name.’
Gigi went on to state that she believes ‘the base’ of their friendship ‘is that we respect the same things that we see in each other when we go to work.’
‘We’re not there to ask for special treatment. We always work hard,’ the mother-of-one said.
Meanwhile, Kendall said: ‘We’re sisters more than we’re friends. For example, we probably didn’t see each other for a year during COVID. I never saw you really pregnant.’

Jenner went on to acknowledge that participating in her family’s reality show, The Kardashians, is not her ‘biggest cup of tea.’
‘I swear to God, I’m going to stop everything and just design homes,’ Kendall said. ‘I’m not kidding.’
She continued: ‘I love my space in LA, but I also really love the simple life. I like getting up every morning and throwing on a bathing suit or sweatpants and no makeup and just being free with my day.’
Gigi sweetly revealed that Jenner is ‘one of the only people’ that she ‘would let design a house for’ her.
In regards to their future, Gigi disclosed she ‘can get very tunnel vision’ if she makes ‘just one goal.’
‘I’ve taught myself more to just be open to whatever comes,’ she said. ‘I used to think I was a planner. I was like, I’m going to be married at 29 and have a kid at 30. But life kind of happens, and you’re just like, Oh, we don’t have control. Trust the ride.’
Kendall agreed, stating: ‘I think about the future a lot, but I try not to overplan because you know I’m a planner.’
