A heartbroken Kentucky man made a desperate plea for help after his wife was mauled to death by a roaming pack of wild dogs.
Priscilla Jones, 44, was assaulted on August 29 while walking on Sandy Branch Road in Flat Lick, a rural, unincorporated area in Knox County.
A local heard Jones screaming out for help and ran outside to see ‘several dogs’ attacking her, WBIR reports.
A witness called 911, but when paramedics arrived, Jones had already suffered severe injuries and couldn’t speak.
She was transported to nearby Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The family’s grief was compounded by the sudden, imposing cost of her burial.
‘We need at least $3,250 by tomorrow at 5 PM, which is her birthday, or we won’t be able to bury her,’ her husband Johnny told a local TV station on Tuesday.
He also described the agonizing moment he found his wife lying mutilated in the grass.

Priscilla’s husband, Johnny, made an urgent appeal for financial help to give her a proper funeral following her sudden passing.
Johnny, along with his and Jones’s two children, witnessed the aftermath.
The trio found Jones lying in a grassy field after they heard the worrying sounds of ambulances and police cars descending on the neighborhood.
‘I got worried. I went up there just being nosy I guess, I went up through there and there she is,’ he told WLEX.
The grieving widow is also in disbelief that wild dogs were able to cause such horror.
‘I believe the first blow to the back of the neck was a lethal that made her go down and then the dogs helped her,’ Johnny said.
The family was collecting monetary donations at Barbourville Affordable Funeral Home, but it’s not clear if they secured the necessary funds in time.
The funeral home did not answer when Daily Mail called on Thursday afternoon.
Jones’s obituary has also not yet been posed on the funeral home’s website.

Jones was attacked on August 29 during a walk along Sandy Branch Road in Flat Lick, Kentucky. State police had investigated a related fatality on the same road in May.

Johnny has paid tribute to his late wife, hailing her kindness and dedication to helping others
Johnny, however, has paid tribute to his late wife, hailing her kindness and dedication to helping others.
‘If anybody needed a shirt — she had them. Me and her both have took people off the street and we have fed them. We gave them a place to sleep,’ he told WBIR as tears flooded his eyes.
‘She just was that kind of a person.’
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation into Jones’s death remains ongoing and has warned that the owner of the dogs could face charges.
The department has been in contact with animal control who have been searching for the dogs responsible for the attack.
Sheriff Mike Smith has urged the community to remain vigilant, alleging that Jones is the second person to mauled to death in just four months.
Kentucky State Police investigated a similar death on Sandy Branch Road in May, according to the sheriff.
