Kylie Minogue has hilariously revealed that she once sacked her mum during one of her early tours, in Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show.

Admitting it was down to time being tight during her outfit changes, the singer, 53, had to make the difficult decision to send her own mother Carol packing her bags.

The former ballerina ‘would be bringing home the band, four dancers’ and ‘washing the outfits in the bath’ during her early gigs, according to the All The Lovers songstress.

She said: ‘I don’t think she was on payroll, she probably progressed to being on a payroll, until I sacked her.

‘At a certain point, in the quick change, it’s like a Formula 1 pit stop and I just thought, “Come on, let’s move you out of here.” I can’t waste five seconds in the quick change, mum, out. Every second counts.’

The Grammy Award winner went on to say it was ‘so beautiful’ to have her mum with her ‘all the time’ and eventually her dad Ronald joined the tour crew.

‘Eventually my dad came on tour when he retired from his job. He was amazed. They got to see sights each day. It was good mum wasn’t in the quick change then, so they could enjoy their time.’

Kylie recently confirmed reports she’s moving back to Australia after more than 30 years of living in Britain.

She plans to continue dating her GQ executive boyfriend Paul Solomons, 46, who will stay in London.

She told Jonathan: ‘I’ll still be splitting my time. I had people texting me saying, “I’ve got to see you before you go!”

‘Firstly, I’m still here. It was crazy, but beautiful and overwhelming.’

While she didn’t confirm where exactly she plans to live, she will most likely settle in Melbourne – the city where she was born and where her family reside.

Kylie will appear on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show at 9:35pm on Saturday 13 November.
