Lady Gaga made the tough decision to cancel her Mayhem Ball concert in Miami, Florida tonight, just minutes before showtime, due to a medical issue.

The Bad Romance hitmaker, 39, shared the news with fans via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, pleading with them to forgive her.

The singer revealed the cancellation was due to her voice being ‘strained’ adding she wanted to avoid ‘permanent damage to my vocal cords.’

The star posted her statement at 8:00pm ET, which was the listed showtime on the tickets for the event.

However, she usually begins the show between 8:40pm and 9:00pm.

‘Hi everyone, I am truly very, very sorry, but I need to reschedule tonight’s show in Miami. Last night during rehearsal and during my vocal warmup tonight, my voice was under extreme strain and both my doctor and vocal coach advised me not to perform due to the risk involved,’ she opened her detailed statement.

‘I aspire to be resilient and push through this for you, but I don’t want to jeopardize sustaining long-term or irreversible damage to my vocal cords,’ the star further explained.

‘Given our collective expertise with a performance like ours, there’s a considerable risk, and as you know, I perform live every evening. While it was a tough and distressing decision, I am more fearful of my voice’s long-term effects.’

Gaga continued: ‘I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment, letdown, or inconvenience. I am so, so sorry.’

‘I worked diligently to prevent this and I meticulously care for myself to deliver this highly demanding performance. I love my fans deeply, hold you in high regard, and hope you can accept my heartfelt, regret-filled apology.’

At the end of her statement she added, ‘We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible.’

Her next show is set for Saturday, September 6, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Gaga was pictured enjoying some rare down time on a yacht in Miami earlier on Wednesday.

The artist looked slender in a sleek black swimsuit with a black scarf on her head as she worked on her late summer tan.

With shock white hair and glamorous black sunglasses, Gaga looked every inch an international pop star at the height of her fame.

The crooner was her fiance Michael Polansky as he wore a pale gray hoodie while also modeling sunglasses.

They were aboard a $116,922-a-week luxury yacht complete with six cabins, a barbecue, shower and jet skis.

Gaga has had a bustling summer: The pop icon has been on her MAYHEM Ball World Tour and she released The Dead Dance from the TV series Wednesday on Wednesday.
