Sports legend Lisa Curry will open up about her recent family loss on ABC’s Australian Story next week.
The former Olympic swimmer, 59, has experienced tremendous grief since losing her daughter Jaimi in 2020, and earlier this month, her mother Pat.
A preview of the episode reveals that Lisa will be talking about the pressures of living in the spotlight and how loss has changed her.

‘Nobody knows what happens behind closed doors,’ Lisa says in the teaser for the program, which will screen next Monday night at 8pm on the ABC.
The trailer shows that fans will learn about a whole different side to the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star.
At one point, her 27-year-old son Jett says: ‘She’s very hard on herself, but mum is a strong woman.’
For many years, Lisa had a high-profile marriage to former Ironman and Olympic bronze medal winner Grant Kenny.

Tying the knot in 1984, the couple separated in 2009 and share three children including Jett, and daughter Morgan, 31.
Jaimi, the couple’s eldest, died at age 33 after a lengthy illness. She was receiving treatment for an eating disorder at the time of her passing.
Lisa married current husband Mark Tabone in 2018 and admitted recently that she was finding it hard to spend time away from him as she tours to promote her new memoir, Lisa: 60 Years of Life, Love & Loss.

Lisa shared the sad news she had lost her mother Pat at age 86 earlier this month.
‘Our beautiful mum slipped away peacefully this morning,’ Lisa told her Instagram followers at the time, before adding, ‘My heart is broken again.’
Lisa explained that she’d spent some tender moments with her mum in her final hours, as she and her sister Melanie awaited the arrival of their brother Scott from Berlin.
‘We shared some last laughs, memories and lots of tears,’ she wrote. ‘Thank you for being a wonderful mother. Have a nice, long sleep mum. We love you so much and we’ll all miss you.’
