Lisa Rinna blames The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers for her exit after feeling like they turned on her.

After eight seasons on the show, Rinna left the Bravo reality series in 2023. Although she was a fan favorite when she joined because she held her co-stars accountable, by the end of her run, Rinna felt like the viewers were not supportive of her anymore.

While being interviewed for the Therapuss podcast, Rinna was asked how she handled feedback from Bravo fans who can be very opinionated on social media.

“It got very difficult toward the end because of social media,” Rinna said of the criticism she received from fans.

Rinna said with social media, “everybody got really comfortable behind their computers, saying anything,” and ultimately, “the fans were the ones that ran me off that show. It wasn’t Bravo. It wasn’t the girls. It was the fan base… they villainized me in a way that I just didn’t want to live like that anymore. And that is the truth.”

Following her exit from RHOBH, Rinna has succeeded in the fashion and modeling world. The Melrose Place alum says she has received calls from fans to return to the show, but she doesn’t seem ready.

“The fan base has to know that it’s because of them that I left the show, and that’s something that I don’t think they want to take responsibility for,” she said. “That’s the truth. I left because the fan base turned on me.”

She continued, “And listen, the fan base turns on everybody after a while. But this was a way that I was like, ‘Life’s too short, not doing to do this anymore. It was too much.’”

Rinna cites that navigating the negativity from RHOBH fans as she was grieving the death of her mother “was just too much.”

The former RHOBH star recently started a podcast with her husband called Let’s Not Talk About the Husband.
