On Saturday, April 26, 2025, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., both locals and visitors will converge at Carter Farm, situated at 818 Union Church Road in Townsend, Delaware, to partake in “Brewing for a Better Community.” This fundraising event aims to benefit Neighborhood House and its outreach initiatives within the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend (M.O.T.) region.
Four of Middletown’s well-known craft breweries will be highlighted at the event: Volunteer Brewing Company, First State Brewing Company, JAKL Beer Works, and Crooked Hammock Brewery. Guests can enjoy tasting local craft beers while experiencing an evening meant to unify families and neighbors.
The celebration will include live musical performances, a country-inspired barbecue, outdoor games, hayrides, and a bonfire. Tailored as a family-oriented gathering, children 12 years and younger can enter for free. Adults have the option of purchasing one of two tickets: a $45 ticket that covers food and general event admission, or a $75 ticket that offers beer tastings alongside food and entry to the event. Tickets can be found at
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Neighborhood House, a community-based organization that offers after-school programs and multi-generational services to families in the region. Funds raised will support the development and expansion of these programs, which play a vital role in providing educational and social resources for local youth and families.
Organizers encourage community members to attend and show their support while enjoying an evening of food, music, and fellowship in a relaxed farm setting.
