Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates touched down in Hong Kong on Friday morning as their globe-trotting preseason tour continues.

The MLS side were thumped 6-0 by Al-Nassr on Thursday night, despite the Saudi side being without star men Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in Riyadh.

Messi started that game on the bench amid reports he went for an MRI scan on a possible injury beforehand.

It remains to be seen how severe Messi’s injury is, but he was reportedly feeling some ‘discomfort’ in the aftermath of their friendly with Al-Hilal on Monday.

Luis Suarez addressed the media just hours after landing in the Asian country and was asked how it feels to be reunited with Messi in Miami.

‘I am very happy, after many years of not playing together to share again, not only the field but the day to day life with him,’ he said.

‘Being able to enjoy this last stage that we have left as soccer players and also as friends.’

The 36-year-old – a Champions League, Copa America, and five-time La Liga winner – spent six years at Barcelona alongside Messi.

Miami are currently on a worldwide tour that will see them fly over 23,000 miles to prepare for the upcoming MLS season next month.

Before going to Saudi Arabia they played the El Salvador national team and FC Dallas, and will also face a Hong Kong league XI and Vissel Kobe next week. 

The club will then return to South Florida to play one final friendly vs. Newell’s Old Boys – Messi’s childhood club. 

Miami, who also boat Messi and Suarez’s former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, won the Leagues Cup last season but failed to qualify for the postseason.
