Rapper Mack Maine took to social media on Monday to mourn the tragic loss of his 16-year-old son Isaiah as result of a seizure.
The 43-year-old New Orleans native shared an emotional message on Instagram, announcing that his teenage son died due to a seizure less than two weeks ago.
‘This is a pain I’ve personally never felt before,’ Maine said, ‘but I’m still trusting and believing in God’s plan and God’s will and mercy.’
A close associate and friend of rapper Lil Wayne, Maine, began his heartfelt message by expressing that it had taken him some time to gather the courage to share the news since the previous night.
Known by his real name, Jermaine Anthony Preyan, Maine explained that on July 16th, he got a call informing him that his son Isaiah, known as Zeke, had passed away at his California home following a seizure.
The Every Girl artist was candid in dissecting the tragic situation, as he said he was ‘still in shock and still processing the fact that he’s gone;’ and ‘still confused, still questioning life and why my child and not me.’

Maine wrote that ‘On July 16th I received a call that my son Isaiah (Zeke) passed away at his home in California from a seizure’
Maine added that he was comforted by the spiritual implications following Isaiah’s premature passing.
‘I know I am/was his father while he was here in the flesh but now he’s ascended to rejoin OUR Father God in the spirit and his ancestors who also loved him dearly like his grandfather (my dad) and his grandmother,’ Maine said.
Maine thanked his late son for providing him ‘with one of the greatest gifts [he’s] ever received, Fatherhood!’
He continued: ‘The experience and bond with you and I brought me purpose… YOU were my biggest inspiration and motivation..YOU were the reason I got out of the bed when everyone else snoozed.
‘Your smile brightened my dark days as you were my SONshine. Your soul was made of innocence and your heart was pure. Since July 16th your village has been crushed and we’re hurting.’
Maine was supported by a number of notable names in the hip-hop community, including Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz and Tyga.
‘I don’t even believe what I just read,’ said Minaj. ‘This can’t be real. I love you so much.’
The Super Bass songstress had kind words in remembering Isiah, calling him ‘the most incredible young man’ and ‘such a perfect boy.’

Others in the music industry rallied around Maine with words of kindness and support
Said Minaj, ‘I have no words to express what you must be feeling. No words. We are praying for your whole family, Mack. We love you so much.’
Lauren London, whose late partner Nipsey Hussle was tragically killed in March of 2019, wrote to Mack, ‘We love you brother and holding you up in prayer.’
Rapper 2 Chainz said in a comment in the thread, ‘Bru im so sorry to hear this, praying for you and the fam I love ya bru.’
Rapper Tyga posted emojis of a broken heart and white dove to console Mack, while actress Reginae Carter said, ‘I love you so much … praying for you.’
Lala Anthony wrote: ‘Mack sending love and prayers to you and your family. Holding u & ur family up in prayer … so so sorry for your loss.’
Musical artist Just Brittany wrote to Mack: ‘I’m so sorry this happened, its so crazy you was on my spirit out of no where 2 days ago and I came to your page.
‘Wow I’m so sorry this happened. My deepest condolences for your strength and healing.’
In his Instagram post, Maine noted to his 1 million-plus followers on the platform that Monday marked a number of other milestones, including his birthday and the anniversary of his father’s passing in 2023.

‘For those that know me know today’s my birthday and also the day my pops passed,’ said the Throw It Back rapper. ‘It’s been 2 years since he’s transitioned but it feels like 2,000 but I’m happy he found peace.
‘They said God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.’
Mack continued in encouraging his followers to tell their loved ones how much they mean to them.
‘Today if you all are reading this and would like to do sumthin for me for my bday,’ he said, ‘I ask that you hug the ones you love and squeeze em tight… if you can’t hug em call em to tell them you love them…
‘And if you in the same boat as me close you eyes and remember the good times or scroll thru pics and vids.’
