Madonna found herself the victim of theft shortly after her unexpected performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, last Friday.
Following her collaboration with headliner Sabrina Carpenter, where the 66-year-old pop icon sang a medley of hits including “Vogue” and “Like A Prayer,” as well as a new, unreleased track, items from her personal costume collection were stolen by an unidentified perpetrator.
‘I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing,’ Madonna – who boasts 54.6 million social media followers – wrote via Instagram story on Monday.
The stolen pieces included a jacket, corset, and dress, along with other significant garments. Madonna expressed that these are not merely clothing items but important pieces of her history, and noted that additional archival items from the same period have also gone missing.
The singer made a heartfelt plea for the return of her belongings, asking anyone who finds them to contact her team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com. She is offering a reward for their safe return, expressing her gratitude in advance.
Madonna was the victim of crime following her surprise appearance on the mainstage of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California last Friday
During the event, Madonna was seen wearing a purple leather Gucci bomber jacket and matching knee-high boots, an ensemble she famously wore at the 2005 MTV European Music Awards.
It seems surprising that none of the seven-time Grammy winner’s extensive team—comprising stylist Rita Melssen, hairstylist Matt Benns, makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez, and three fashion assistants—managed to secure her costumes backstage.
Otherwise, Madonna loved staging her ‘full-circle moment’ that harkened back to her 2006 Coachella performance in the Sahara Tent to promote her 10th studio album Confessions on a Dance Floor.
‘Still flying high since Friday night at Coachella!’ the two-time Golden Globe winner gushed.
‘Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible. Bringing Confessions II back to where it began was such a thrill! A moment in history, I will never forget! I feel so free!’
The feeling was mutual for the 26-year-old Grammy winner, who thanked her Michigan-born mentor on Saturday for ‘coming out, bringing your love and gracing the audience with everything you are plus astrology knowledge plus the greatest songs of all time.’
‘Last night was straight out of a dream. Spending so much time laughing with you and then above all sharing the stage with you is a privilege I’ll never forget,’ Carpenter concluded.
At some point after the 66-year-old Queen of Pop performed three of her songs – Vogue, Like A Prayer and a new unknown song – with headliner Sabrina Carpenter (L), costumes from her personal archives were stolen by an unknown thief

She continued: ‘Jacket, corset, dress and all other garments. These aren’t just clothes, they are part of my history. Other archival items from the same era went missing as well’
The Material Girl added: ‘I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul will find these items and reach out to my team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com. I’m offering a reward for their safe return. Thank you with all my heart’
