The independent film “Sorry, Baby” explores the intricate consequences that ensue after experiencing a traumatic life event. At the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, On The Red Carpet interviewed the director and cast, discussing why this comedy-drama is a must-watch.

“Particularly for those who have faced tough times and feel stagnant, not progressing like others seem to be,” shared Naomi Ackie, who plays Lydie. She emphasized the significance of self-compassion and the lengthy nature of the healing journey. Ackie highlighted the importance of surrounding oneself with supportive individuals, noting that “Sorry, Baby” communicates a “universal story.”

Lucas Hedges, who portrays Gavin, the friendly neighbor, hopes the film offers comfort, describing it as a “hug” paired with a thoughtful narrative. Kelly McCormack, who plays Natasha, praised co-star, writer, and director Eva Victor as “extremely funny, smart, and talented.”

Eva Victor, who plays Agnes and serves as writer-director, spoke about fostering a tight-knit group of supportive friends, stating, “There are many amazing directors who are women, queer, non-binary, and trans. I seek them out and we support each other. My filmmaker friends, who are queer and supportive, keep me inspired when things get tough.”

“Sorry, Baby” is in theaters now.
