The 50-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were arrested earlier on Tuesday.

The girl had been found dead about 5.30pm on Saturday when police were called to their home in the Toowoomba suburb of Rangeville, about an hour and a half west of Brisbane.

Detectives from the Toowoomba child protection and investigation unit then led an investigation involving the homicide squad and child trauma unit.

The pair were charged with one count each of murder, torture and failure to provide necessities of life and denied police bail to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
