A man was found dead Tuesday morning after a fire ripped through an accessory unit in Ramona, Cal Fire San Diego officials said.

The accessory dwelling, on a property on Montecito Road near Davis Street, was a total loss, Cal Fire Capt. Frank LoCoco said.

The fire was reported about 8:30 a.m. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, which they contained to the unit. When they searched the home, they found the man, LoCoco said.

The man’s age was unavailable, although LoCoco said he was described as elderly. The man’s name was not released.
