JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot during a “domestic dispute” at an apartment complex in Jacksonville’s Mayport area Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sergeant Richardson told First Coast News officers responded to the shooting at Villas at Atlantic Beach Apartments at 10:24 a.m.

When officers arrived, Richardson said they “detained the suspect.”

The man was taken to a local hospital after being shot once in the leg; he is stable, according to JSO.

Richardson said officers canvassed the area for surveillance video and spoke to witnesses after the incident happened.
