Mandy Moore posted a livid message to her Insta Stories, saying she and her family were struck by a hit-and-run driver this week.
The 41-year-old actress, along with her musician spouse Taylor Goldsmith, are parents to three young kids – their boys Gus, aged four, Ozzie, aged two, and their 10-month-old daughter, Louise.
Taking to Instagram, she expressed her frustration: ‘To the woman who hit my family from behind and then fled as we pulled over, may karma catch up with you [sic].’
Reassuring fans who were worried about her and her loved ones’ safety, she added: ‘Thankfully everyone was ok but what kind of human does that?’
Mandy and her family have faced a challenging year, with their Altadena, California home suffering severe damage from the Los Angeles fires, rendering it uninhabitable.
Following this, Mandy faced backlash for promoting a GoFundMe campaign for her in-laws, who also lost their house in the fire, as critics pointed out her alleged $14 million wealth.

Mandy Moore vented her anger on Instagram Stories, revealing that her family was involved in a hit-and-run incident recently; pictured here in August 2022.
As the fires ravaged Los Angeles County, Mandy shared on Instagram that the garage and guesthouse of her Altadena property had been destroyed.
‘Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing,’ shared the A Walk to Remember actress. ‘For now. It’s not livable but mostly intact.’
During this difficult time, Mandy also disclosed that her brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, and his wife Kit, who is expecting, lost their home just weeks before their baby’s arrival.
Left without a home, Mandy, Taylor and their three little children moved in temporarily with Hilary Duff and the latter’s husband Matthew Koma.
However Mandy then came in for brickbats online when she shared a GoFundMe that Hilary and Matthew had set up in order to help Griffin and Kit recover from their losses.
‘Griff is a touring musician and also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion he uses to make a living,’ Mandy noted while plugging the crowdfunding page.
Online trolls lambasted her, wondering why she was asking others to contribute to her relatives inasmuch as her own net worth was speculated to be $14 million.
Mandy defiantly struck back, fuming at her critics: ‘People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic.’

She insisted: ‘Of course we are. Our buddy Matt started this go fund me and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.’
In May, she expressed her exasperation at what she regarded as the county’s sclerotic bureaucracy for getting in the way of her own home reconstruction efforts.
‘Thanks LA County for making it frustrating and impossible to rebuild after the fires as possible,’ she wrote on her Insta Stories, adding that she ‘shouldn’t be surprised but it’s mind boggling the red tape and hoops they’re putting us all through.’
Mandy, who was previously married to Ryan Adams from 2009 to 2016, tied the knot with Taylor near the end of 2018 in her backyard.
