Christopher Allen-Black, 54, a former math teacher at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, was found guilty by an Orange County jury.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former teacher from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts who was arrested last year for indecent exposure at a Disney World resort has been sentenced to a year of probation.

Christopher Allen-Black, 54, was found guilty by an Orange County jury of misdemeanor public exposure and received a 12-month probation sentence on Wednesday.

Court records show Allen-Black was also ordered to serve 100 hours of community service as part of his sentence.

The former math teacher was taken into custody on February 24, 2024, at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel after witnesses claimed they saw a man completely nude in front of a window that faced a pool area.

Duval County Public Schools, despite learning about Allen-Black’s arrest days later, allowed him to remain in the classroom until April 11 — 45 days later. District officials later apologized to parents for their handling of Allen-Black’s arrest.

Allen-Black’s arrest marked the fifth faculty member removed from a Duval County classroom in 14 months. Former Douglas Anderson music teacher Jeffery Clayton was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with a student.

The arrests prompted a Florida senator to file a bill requiring school districts to remove employees from classroom contact within 24 hours of learning of certain arrests.

The law, which was approved by Gov. Ron DeSantis on May 21, will go into effect July 1, 2025.

In a statement shared with First Coast News on Monday, a DCPS spokesperson said Allen-Black’s employment ended in June 2024 and provided no additional response to his sentencing.
