A music teacher on maternity leave, who is also married, faces charges of ‘penetrating’ a teenage schoolboy amid allegations of ongoing sexual misconduct.
Naomi Tekea Craig, aged 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday following accusations of engaging in ‘persistent sexual conduct’ with a teenage boy in Mandurah, a city located 70 kilometers south of Perth, during 2024 and 2025.
Craig is confronted with charges that include two counts of sexually penetrating a child aged over 13 but under 16, possessing child exploitation material, and maintaining a pattern of sexual conduct with a child under 16.
During the alleged incidents, Ms. Craig was serving as a teacher at Frederick Irwin Anglican School, a private co-educational institution in Meadow Springs that caters to students from kindergarten through Year 12.
Principal Tracey Gray communicated with parents and guardians on Tuesday, assuring them that the alleged victim is not a student at the school.
“It is with regret that I inform you of the arrest of a teacher from our school, who has been charged with child-related offences,” wrote Ms. Gray.
‘The teacher has been instructed not to attend the school.
‘The information available to the school suggests that there is no need for any concern for any children at the school.’

The Daily Mail can reveal Ms Craig is a married mother who also goes by Ms Woods, her marital surname.
The Daily Mail understands she had recently gone on maternity leave as she is pregnant with her second child, which is due later this month.
Ms Craig grew up in Mandurah and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Western Australia and a Diploma of Education from Edith Cowan University.
She later relocated to Melbourne, where she married her longtime partner in a lavish ceremony at Stones of the Yarra Valley on October 8, 2019 – having made a quick weekend getaway to Perth with friends three months earlier for her hens party.
A video posted online shows Ms Craig being walked down the aisle to meet her groom at the altar, before the newlyweds spent the night celebrating with family and friends.
Three years later, while still based in Victoria, the couple welcomed their first child, a little boy.
Maternity shoot photos show Ms Craig posing with her baby bump in March 2022 as she stood on a Mornington Peninsula beach dressed in white lingerie, brown broad-brimmed hat, and draped with a lace gown.
The then mum-to-be could be seen closing her eyes as she used her hands to cup her belly and chest before plunging down into the water.

The Daily Mail understands Ms Craig, her husband and child moved back to the Mandurah region sometime between late 2022 and 2023.
According to an online work bio, Ms Craig began employment at Frederick Irwin Anglican School in 2024, having previously worked as an independent private music teacher.
Property records show the couple purchased a four-bedroom property in the area in June last year as they prepared to expand their family.
Posts on the school’s social media pages reveal Ms Craig, who was known to students as Ms Woods, was actively involved in their music events, including choirs, concerts, and shopping centre carols.
She was listed as being on maternity leave in a newsletter dated December 10, which has since been removed from the school’s website.
Friends and associates of Ms Craig have flocked online to express shock at the allegations.
One woman said she went to school with Ms Craig, who also taught her children.
‘She was a fantastic music teacher and a great friend at school,’ the woman wrote.
‘(A) bubbly and happy person.
‘I am in shock.’
Ms Craig is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on January 27.
