Since he’s homeschooled due to his physical limitations, 7-year-old Vinny misses out on many childhood experiences — like Valentine’s Day parties at school.
MASSILLON, Ohio — The mayor of Massillon is reaching out ahead of Valentine’s Day, hoping to collect tons of cards for a very special little boy.
Seven-year-old Vinny has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Since he’s homeschooled due to his physical limitations, he unfortunately misses out on many childhood experiences — like Valentine’s Day parties at school.
So, Mayor Jamie Slutz is asking everyone to send Vinny a card. There’s a special drop box for Vinny’s Valentines inside Huntington Bank on Lincoln Way in Massillon.
“Let’s work together to overflow Vinny’s Spiderman box with love and show him that the entire community of Massillon is thinking of him,” City Hall wrote on Facebook. “Let’s create a Valentine’s Day he will never forget!”
Cards for Vinny can also be mailed to the bank at 151 Lincoln Way East, Massillion, OH, 44646.
