MATT Gaetz has slammed a newly surfaced claim that he had a threesome with a teen girl.
Former Florida representative stepped down as the nominee for attorney general under Donald Trump just before damning new allegations and testimonies surfaced on Thursday.

The woman, who was 17 at the time, told the House Ethics Committee she had two sexual encounters with Gaetz at a party in 2017, according to CNN.
Gaetz criticized the accusations as “old claims of a sexual nature from questionable sources that the DOJ had previously dismissed, put together by individuals with political agendas.”
“The Steele Dossier really was shameful,” he added in a post on X.
The second sexual encounter was not previously reported.
The woman, who remains unnamed, testified that the second encounter involved another adult woman.
The adult woman denied participating in the alleged encounter, CNN reported.
Gaetz has repeatedly denied claims he had sex with a minor.
The Justice Department also investigated these allegations and decided not to charge him.
The Steele dossier Gaetz mentioned is referring to a document that included compromising information about Trump ahead of the 2016 election.
Gaetz announced his withdrawal shortly after CNN approached him for comment about the claims of his threesome with a minor and adult.
He stated, “There is no time to engage in a prolonged dispute in Washington. Therefore, I have decided to withdraw my nomination as Attorney General. The Department of Justice under Trump needs to be prepared and operational from the very first day.”
His wife Ginger shared a message of support for her husband in response to his statement.
“Nobody loves America more than you,” she wrote.
She also shared a picture of the couple walking up the Capitol Hill steps together.
Matt Gaetz’s full statement
“I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.
“I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I’m certain he will Save America.”
“The end of an era,” she captioned the shot.
Trump said in a statement on Truth Social that he respected Gaetz’s decision to step down.
“I greatly appreciate the recent efforts of Matt Gaetz is seeking approval to be Attorney General,” Trump said.
“He was doing very well but, at the same time, did not want to be a distraction for the Administration, for which he has much respect.
“Matt has a wonderful future, and I look forward to watching all of the great things he will do!”
The DOJ closed its investigation of Gaetz last year but calls have grown for the House Ethics Committee to release its report on the politician.
Gaetz’s future in politics is unclear as Ginger teased that “the BEST is yet to come.”
Speculation has now started to swirl that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis might nominate Gaetz as his state’s next senior senator.
