Mel B is the latest Spice Girl to hint that the record-breaking girl band could reunite to mark the 30th anniversary of their first hit single.
The Sun newspaper reports that the singer took to Instagram with a video of herself scrolling through her phone while being drive in a car.
The video included a montage of Mel B in years gone by, showing off various ‘Scary Spice’ looks. The singer captioned the post: “Organising my pics and it’s all spice girls maybe it’s time to do it all over again?”
The British band – consisting of Mel B, Geri Horner, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham – first topped the chart with their 1996 debut single Wannabe, and went on to sell over 100million records.
Mel C – ‘Sporty Spice’ – recently told Australian radio:
“It’s 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special,” she explained to the radio DJs.
“Obviously I can’t say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour!”
And last month, Geri Horner – who dramatically left the band in 1998 but later rejoined for a world tour – told The Times of London:
“My hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one.”
The last time all five members of the Spice Girls performed together was at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony. While they have had reunions since, including a tour in 2019 that took place without Victoria Beckham, this was their final performance as a quintet.
