Director Spike Lee‘s latest project has come to light, and fans are already buzzing over its nearly minute-long teaser trailer.

In the forthcoming movie, Highest 2 Lowest, Denzel Washington takes on the role of a “powerful music executive” who finds himself in a “life-or-death ethical crisis” after becoming the target of a “ransom scheme,” according to the Apple TV+ press announcement.

Penned by Alan Fox, Highest 2 Lowest, is a modern adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime drama High and Low, relocated to present-day New York City. This marks the fifth film partnership between Lee and Washington, following their collaborations on Mo’ Better Blues (1990), Malcolm X (1992), He Got Game (1998), and Inside Man (2006).
