The first three seasons of The White Lotus, which exploded into carnage with its Season 3 finale, have all been at luxury resorts by the beach.

However, creator Mike White has teased that the location for Season 4 may not have quite the same waves crashing against its walls.

“For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular but there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels,” he said at the end of Season 3.

Season 1 was set in Hawaii, Season 2 was located in Italy and Season 3 was obviously set in Thailand. It was renewed for a fourth season earlier this year.

Deadline reported earlier this year that the HBO drama series was considering a Four Seasons hotel in Europe. A source added that “everything is on the table for next season” but that no decision has been made.

White didn’t give any more details away, but his tease suggests it might not be at one of the hotels that we’d expect. Cast members have warned that White hates the cold, so don’t expect a ski version, either.

“We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon,” HBO drama chief Francesca Orsi told Deadline in February. “I can’t really say where we’re going to land but chances are somewhere in Europe.”

The White Lotus has been working with the Four Seasons chain whose hotels double as White Lotus resorts. There are plenty of European locations to choose from, including a pretty famous one in the French Riviera.
