Miles Teller made his return to the Saturday Night Live stage for his second hosting gig, stepping into the spotlight the evening following Halloween.
The 38-year-old Top Gun: Maverick actor, who is currently promoting his latest movie, Eternity, kept audiences entertained during the show’s 51st season.
In the opening sketch, Teller portrayed a character named Kenneth from New Jersey, struggling to recall his Halloween antics while dealing with a severe hangover.
“I clawed the castle last night,” he confessed to the game show host, Gay Fopay, played by Kenan Thompson.
He elaborated, saying it means “drinking 14 White Claws and then eating White Castle,” to which Thompson humorously responded, “You got a death wish, brother.”
That night, Grammy-winning artist Brandi Carlile, 44, graced the stage as the musical guest for her fourth appearance on the show.
Miles Teller, 38, made his second appearance as host of Saturday Night Live, hitting the stage just one night after Halloween
In one skit, the actor battled a hangover while trying to piece together his wild Halloween night
The first sketch started with a game show called ‘What Did I Do Last Night?’ hosted by Thompson.
He explained the game show was the only one ‘where three deeply hungover contestants have to figure out what they got up to the night before. And of course, today is our extra-painful day after Halloween edition.’
Kenneth was joined by ‘sexy cat’ Elizabeth (Veronika Slowikowska) and ‘vampire’ Ron (Ben Marshall).
He was then asked to state his ‘Uber faux pas’ from the night before, and givn the choice between ‘a lil puke’, ‘made your driver go through the drive-thru and pay for your food’ and ‘asked for the aux, and then watched porn.’
Kenneth picked the puke, but he was wrong. Though he did puke, he actually did it in someone’s Camry.
‘In my defense, I do that a lot,’ Kenneth stated.
Kenneth was then asked to pick between an old woman, a young boy, and a stop sign as he tried to figure out who gave him a black eye.
He picked the old woman, but he was wrong again, as it was the boy, whose corn costume he stole.

The Top Gun: Maverick star talked about his childhood during his opening monologue, joking that he’s moved around so much he doesn’t really know where he’s from
‘I lived in Pennsylvania , Georgia, Delaware, Jersey, and Florida . All before I was 12. So honestly, it gets a bit confusing when people ask me where I’m from. I’m like “I don’t know, man, Top Gun 2?”‘ he quipped
He also revealed that he and his sisters used to dress up as SNL characters when they were growing up, and showed photos from the year they dressed as ‘Roxbury Guys’
The characters were originally played by Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan

He then touched on losing him home during the Los Angeles wildfires in January.
‘A lot has happened since the last time that I hosted. A few months ago, my wife and I lost our house in the Palisades Fire. But don’t worry. Seriously, do not worry. We’re doing great.’
‘That experience has made me incredibly grateful to have so many places that I can call home. But based on what happened to the last place that I called home, I just want to say – there’s fire exits located there, there, there,’ he joked, pointing to the exits.
In the next pre-recorded sketch Teller played two twin brothers as he spoofed the show ‘Property Brothers.’
The twins were tasked with their biggest challenge yet when they were asked to help President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump build a ballroom in the White House.
‘So which one of you married the new girl, and which one of you is the gay?’ the fictional Trump asked the brothers.
‘Donald and Melania moved into this house nine years ago. They were evicted for four years, but they moved back in. Donald has a strong eye for interior design,’ the brothers explained.

‘I love this Halloween decorations you put up,’ one of the brothers said to Melania. ‘That’s for Christmas,’ Melania responded
Trump then joked that the ballroom will be ready ‘just in time for my third term’
‘Yes, because we’re not leaving. We’re going to be doing something called coup,’ he added
‘I put these gold urns everywhere. Like a hundred in every room. That makes me happy. It’s very important to be happy these days. Really dark stuff happening in the world. Some of it me. And here’s a crown I just got from my trip to Asia. Nothing says democracy like a crown, right?’ Trump quipped.
‘And his wife, Melania, she’s got a style all her own.’

Teller went on: ‘We asked Donald what his budget was, and he said between $350 million and infinity. Then we asked if he needed a permit, and Donald laughed really hard. He said, I could build this ballroom with the bones of my enemies, and no one could stop me, as opposed to a bonehead like my brother.’
‘Unfortunately the renovation hit a bit of a snag when Donald realized he had deported all the construction workers and pulled into the Home Depot parking lot and yelled, “Just give me the whites.”‘
‘I want the day laborers from Norway and Sweden, but apparently they don’t exist.’
‘But in the end, we’re confident the new ballroom will be a shining beacon of freedom for all Americans.’
‘And it will be ready just in time for my third term,’ Trump joked.
‘That’s right. We want this to be our forever home.’
‘Yes, because we’re not leaving. We’re going to be doing something called coup,’ he added.
The third skit featured Teller as a hockey player in an NHL promotional segment. Teller, portraying a member of the Predators, was joined by two players from the Kings and the Rangers.

Teller became increasingly irritated by the inappropriate wording of his lines
‘And I’m a predator in my community. When you see this face, just know a predator is in the community. Wait, wait, wait. Can we cut?’ he asked
After Teller complained yet again, he was told: ‘This isn’t going to work. Why don’t you all say your name, your position, and your team. Let’s go.’ He then said: ‘Fine. I’m Chase Kidd, right wing predator’
‘I may be a king on the ice, but I’m also a king in the community,’ one of the players introduced himself, while the other added, ‘And I’m a ranger in my community.’

‘What’s the issue, man?’
‘I mean, do I have to say that I’m a predator in in my community?’
He was peeved again when he had to say, ‘As a Nashville predator, I work in hospitals to make sick kids feel touched.’

The sketches continued with a Netflix trailer of three men whose wives ‘mysteriously vanished’
The distraught men shared how their wives disappeared, but it turned out all three had very mundane reasons for being gone
‘I was on a business trip. I had told Doug about it maybe 45 times,’ the first one stated. The second one said, ‘I went to my sister’s for the weekend, as we had discussed for months.’ While the third one shared: ‘I was literally in the bathroom. Dumping if you want to know’
Meanwhile Teller’s character wasted no time opening a Tinder account
The next sketch featured a newsroom with a number of unruly workers in the background who continued to interrupt the live show
The laughs continued in the next skit, where he played a police detective doing a press briefing in regards to a recent murder
However, he was stumped when one of the reporters continued to ask him questions about a graphic novel he wrote called ‘Gargirl’
Other reporters then become intrigued by Gargirl, and start asking questions about the comic and not the murder, much to the detective’s dismay
In the last segment Teller played a waiter at an Italian restaurant
During a date night, a man grew increasingly uncomfortable as Teller and his fellow waiter kept flirting with his wife
At one point they even began feeding her while throwing salad in her husband’s face

‘Buddy, I don’t know what Gargirl is,’ he said, irritated.
‘Half gargoyle, half girl,’ the reported explained. ‘Do you look it? Do you like “Gargirl”? Do you think it’s a good idea?’
‘Yes, okay. Yeah, I do. It sounds action packed, and I think it’s cool that it deals with real problems facing kids today. Is that what you wanted to hear?’
