Millie Bobby Brown has adopted a baby girl with her husband Jake Bongiovi.

The Stranger Things star, 21, who wed Bongiovi, 23, last year, made the surprise announcement on Instagram on Thursday.

The post read: ‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.

‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.

‘And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.’

The couple has not yet released any pictures of their daughter, but on July 20, Bongiovi was spotted pushing a stroller in a photo shared by Brown, who added the caption: ‘helluva summer thus far.’

In March Brown opened up about starting a family with Bongiovi and revealed that he already knew ‘how important’ it is to her. 

The pair married in May 2024 and the couple had discussed having children , adoption, and their plans on having a big family.

In a visit to the Smartless podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the actress admitted that although she recognizes she’s ‘really young,’ she eagerly anticipates becoming a mother.

‘My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,’ she explained.

‘Since I was a kid, I told my mom, like, baby dolls were my thing. I aspired to be a mom just like how my mom was to me. And my grandmother played a big role in my life,’ she expressed.

‘So, yes, Jake understands how crucial this is to me, and although I aim to really establish myself in acting and producing, starting a family is also vital for me personally,’ Millie added.

‘It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.’

Brown then added: ‘And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family.

Brown is best known for her role as Eleven on Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things 

‘I’m one of four siblings, and he’s one of four as well. So, it’s definitely in our plans, but to me, having a child, whether biological or through adoption, is equally significant.’

She further mentioned: ‘Our home welcomes everyone with love, and the energy Jake and I maintain is that our door is always open, making sure everyone feels truly at ease.’

Her comments come just a few weeks after she opened up to Vanity Fair in February about her relationship with Bongiovi and how they’re ‘pretty united’ on major topics.

‘We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,’ she told the publication.

‘It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.’

Brown and Bongiovi, whose father is musician Jon Bon Jovi, first started dating in 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2023.

The couple tied the knot in May 2024 in a lavish ceremony in Italy where they said ‘I do’ at Villa Cetinale in Tuscany.
