DENVER (KDVR) — An Amber Alert for a 1-year-old girl has been deactivated by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, and two suspects are in custody.

The sheriff’s office deactivated the alert at 10:18 a.m. after saying the girl, Ardin Reid, was safely located.

The Amber Alert was sent by the sheriff’s office earlier Saturday morning after Reid was “taken by force” by her noncustodial parents, 42-year-old Jared Reid, who was considered armed and dangerous, and 41-year-old Rose Kim.

In a post on X at 11:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office said Jared Reid and Kim are in custody and that Ardin Reed is “safe and in good health.”

The sheriff’s office told affiliate Fox31 that Jared Reid turned himself in and that Kim was detained in Northglenn. Ardin Reid was also found in Northglenn, according to the sheriff’s office, although it is unclear at this time if she was with Kim when she was located.

Ardin Reid was taken near the 5160 block of S. Quintero St. in Centennial at 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the sheriff’s office, which had been posted with a SWAT team outside of an apartment in the 7700 block of E. Phillips Cir. in Centennial early Saturday.

SWAT teams and other officials were on a megaphone calling out for someone to come out of the apartment, according to Fox31’s Gabby Easterwood.

David Karsh, who lives in the neighborhood, said an officer told him to get back in house after he went outside to let his dog out in the morning.

“It puts you on edge a little bit just because you’re not used to it more than anything else, and I think the thing that’s most surprising is the fire power that’s walking around out here. That’s the world we live in today and it’s sad,” Karsh said.

A model year 2001 silver Toyota 4Runner vehicle connected to the two suspects was found at the apartment, according to Easterwood.

“To have the whole neighborhood blocked off, it’s a little crazy,” Karsh said. “That just doesn’t happen around here.”

This is a developing story. Fox31 will update with new information as it becomes known.
