SAN DIEGO —
A 33-year-old man was killed Tuesday when his motorcycle and a car crashed near Otay Mesa, San Diego police said.
The crash happened about 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Dennery Road and Island Breeze Lane, east of Interstate 805 and west of the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre.
Police said the man was headed east on Dennery Road on a BMW motorcycle when a 35-year-old woman driving a Dodge Charger turned left from northbound Island Breeze Lane onto westbound Dennery Road. The impact of the crash threw the rider onto the road, police said.
He died before he could be taken to a hospital.
The woman and a passenger in the car were not hurt.
Traffic investigators had not determined who was at fault. They did rule out alcohol as a factor, police said. No further information was immediately available.
