The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has declared an emergency proclamation in response to ongoing federal immigration raids, citing the creation of a “climate of fear” among local residents.
The proclamation, which passed with a 4-1 vote on Tuesday, highlights the raids that commenced in early June. It asserts that these actions have instilled fear among residents, discouraging them from leaving their homes for work, using public transport, and accessing county services.
