Megyn Kelly has fiercely criticized Meghan Markle, accusing her of exploiting royal titles while residing in the United States.
The renowned conservative media figure claimed that disdain for the Duchess of Sussex is a rare point of agreement among both right-wing and left-wing Americans.
Kelly made these remarks during an interview with the Daily Mail, coinciding with the launch of her newest venture, ‘The Megyn Kelly Channel’ on SiriusXM, marking a further expansion of her influential media presence.
“It’s ludicrous,” Kelly remarked, “that Meghan is capitalizing on British royal titles here, especially given the accusations of racism she has directed at the royal family.”
She shared a personal anecdote, saying, “When I dine out, even those with liberal views approach me, admitting they disagree with me on almost everything except for my views on Meghan Markle. They even pledge to follow my show and social media just for that. It’s a testament to how collective our disdain for her has become.”
The sun begins to set over Montecito. And Prince William emerges as the apparent force behind these most welcome reforms
Conservative media star Megyn Kelly said the couple should live in ‘woke’ Canada
Recognized as one of America’s leading media personalities, Kelly speculated that in the future, King William might treat the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the same manner as the recently disgraced former Prince Andrew.
He is now a commoner – plain Mr Andrew Mountbatten Windsor – after King Charles last week sensationally stripped him of his Prince title in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Andrew, 65, has also been removed from his home, the 30-room Royal Lodge nestled on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Last month, Buckingham Palace had announced that he would voluntarily stop using the title Duke of York.
Kelly said: ‘King William, in whatever years it takes after he ascends, I think he’s going to take away their [Harry and Meghan’s] Royal titles, and that should happen ASAP.’
Meghan was at the center of a title controversy in April when it emerged she had sent a gift basket to a cosmetics entrepreneur which said: ‘With the Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.’
When the Sussexes stepped away from being working Royals in 2020 they agreed to stop using ‘HRH’, which stands for ‘His Royal Highness’ and ‘Her Royal Highness’, although they do still hold the titles.
A statement released by Buckingham Palace at the time said: ‘The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal family.’
The gift basket was sent by Meghan to her friend, IT Cosmetics founder Jamie Kern Lima, and was shown in a video for Lima’s podcast.
A spokesman for the Sussexes insisted that they do not use HRH titles for commercial purposes, so no agreement had not been broken.
Also in April, the Duchess shared a picture on Instagram of a note she had received from Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine’s vice-prime minister, which addressed her using the ‘HRH’ title.

KeIly said that if the couple did not want to live in the UK then ‘why would [Meghan] want to be their princess? Why does she get any Jones out of being the Duchess of Sussex for such a people?
‘So these two are all about themselves. I think it’s a matter of time before they lose their titles, and they definitely have lost support here in the United States. No one cares about them, and no one is rooting for them. You saw them get booed at the World Series game the other day. That’s real.’
The Sussexes reportedly faced boos when they appeared on the Jumbotron at a World Series game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles last week.
They also faced criticism after they were seated in the front row ahead of local sporting legends Magic Johnson and Sandy Koufax.
Kelly said Canada would have been a great place for them to live, adding: ‘It’s woke, it’s annoying. I’m not sure how California got saddled with these two.’
