NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly have admitted they don’t always wear their wedding rings.
The couple commemorated their 10th wedding anniversary earlier this year after first crossing paths in 2009 at the University of Georgia, and they now share four children.
However, both the quarterback and his wife revealed they have their own reasons for not always bearing their symbols of matrimony.
Kelly, a former cheerleader, queried her husband about the recent fad of male athletes wearing rubber bands on their ring fingers during games during a recent episode of her ‘Morning After’ podcast.
‘You’ve noticed that men have started to wear rubber rings during games,’ Kelly, 36, said. ‘Why haven’t you?’
Following a brief moment of awkward silence, Kelly laughed and remarked, ‘I’m kidding, I’m totally kidding. I’m putting you on the spot. I respect the fact that you don’t have to, because I’m one to talk.’

Kelly opened up on the struggles of marriage earlier this year on her Morning After podcast
She went on to confess that she also fails to wear her ring, pointing to their four young daughters.
‘Sometimes my ring stays upstairs,’ Kelly explained. ‘We have kids. It’s a lot just keeping track of everything.’
The mother-of-four gave her NFL husband credit for having only lost his ring once throughout their decade-long marriage.
The Los Angeles Rams star recalled he ‘misplaced’ the ring in one of Kelly’s purses, which was later found ‘in a jewelry bag,’ according to Kelly.
‘That’s really impressive,’ Kelly told him.
Just five months ago, Kelly opened up on her marriage struggles, admitting their relationship wasn’t always easy.
‘Marriage is f***ing hard,’ Kelly said on ‘The Morning After’ podcast. ‘Anyone who tells you differently is f***ing lying through their teeth.’
Kelly admitted that before marriage, ‘you put yourself first all the time.’

‘Now, all of a sudden, you’re prioritizing someone else. There are kids involved. It just becomes more and more difficult with the increasing challenges you face.’
Kelly and the Super Bowl winner began their relationship during college, and she supported him when he was drafted into the NFL. The football player proposed to the former cheerleader in 2014, three years after they moved to LA.
The couple exchanged vows in an opulent ceremony in 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia, and a year later, they announced Kelly’s pregnancy, welcoming twin girls, Sawyer and Chandler, in April 2017.
Over a year later, in August 2018, they introduced daughter Hunter Hope — a surprise given that they hadn’t announced a pregnancy.
In June 2020, they announced the arrival of Tyler, another daughter.
