Nicki Minaj risks losing her $20m mansion over unpaid judgment sum

In a recent legal setback for Nicki Minaj, the acclaimed rapper is under court order to pay $503,000 following a lost lawsuit, casting a shadow over her ownership of a $20 million mansion in California. If the debt remains unpaid, the consequences could be significant.

The judgment, issued by Judge Cindy Pánuco in 2024, stems from a lawsuit filed by Thomas Weidenmüller, a former security guard for Minaj. Weidenmüller’s legal action, initiated in 2022, accuses Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, of assaulting him in Germany back in March 2019.

As of now, Minaj has yet to settle the amount due. The situation has escalated to the point where, in November 2025, Judge Pánuco indicated she might order the sale of Minaj’s lavish eight-bedroom home in Hidden Hills, California, to satisfy the judgment owed to Weidenmüller.

According to court documents reviewed by the Daily Mail, a final decision in the case is expected on Thursday unless Minaj fulfills her financial obligation to Weidenmüller. The legal proceedings continue to unfold, with significant implications for the rapper’s assets.

Inquiries for additional comments have been directed to representatives for both Minaj and Weidenmüller’s attorney, as the public awaits further developments in this high-profile case.

The Daily Mail has also reached out to reps for Minaj and Weidenmüller’s lawyer to request further comment.

Minaj has so far failed to pay the judgment amount, and the judge will be asked to order the sale of Minaj’s home to pay Weidenmüller unless the rapper pays the judgment by Thursday, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Weidenmüller’s attorney Paul A. Saso said in legal documentss that the singer’s longstanding failure to remit payment on the judgement marked a potentially costly level of stubborness in reaction to the court’s ruling.

‘Although it is regrettable that the extraordinary measure of forcing the sale of Minaj’s dwelling is required,’ Saso said, ‘that result is entirely the product of her intransigence in not making payment.’

Saso added that ‘Minaj is a global music superstar, estimated to have a net worth of anywhere between $150–190 million, and is reportedly the highest paid female rap star in the world.

‘There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors.’

Saso said his client ‘should not have to wait any longer’ for the money years after the court made its ruling.

The attorney added that Minaj’s ‘refusal to pay not only squanders this Court’s limited resources but also mocks the authority of its judgment.’

Saso said his client ‘respectfully requests that the Court order the sale of’ Minaj’s Southern California ‘property without delay so that he may at last be made whole.’

Judge Pánuco last fall delved into the details of the process involved in selling the home if Minaj doesn’t settle up, according to Rolling Stone.

‘I just want to make sure we’re getting it right,’ the judge said. ‘Let’s say there’s no bidder who offers the full $20 million, and it goes up for auction, and they don’t get fair market value, and it doesn’t cover everything.

The judge continued: ‘If it doesn’t cover what the sale is required to cover – including the judgment, in this instance – then I would use that evidence to help me to determine that.’

At AmericaFest, the Trollz artist made clear that her politics had shifted, as she was a fan of both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance and their direct styles of communication.

‘This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them,’ Minaj said. Our vice president, he makes me … well, I love both of them.

‘Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.’

At one point during the chat between Kirk and Minaj, the singer described Vance as an ‘assassin’ – clarifying it as a slip of the tongue – which touched an emotional chord with Kirk following her late husband’s shocking murder at the hands of an assassin in September on a Utah college campus.

After composing herself, Kirk made clear that she wouldn’t let Minaj’s poor wording ruin the exchange.

‘If the internet wants to clip it, who cares? I love this woman,’ Kirk said of Minaj.
