A$AP Rocky has hinted at the potential name of his and Rihanna’s third child — just shortly after Rihanna showcased her growing baby bump at the Met Gala.
Appearing on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” this past Wednesday, the 36-year-old rapper, known for his hit song “Sundress,” faced questions about the name choice for their third child. The couple, who have been in a relationship since late 2019, seems to have everyone guessing about the moniker.
“Your first two kids have ‘R’ names, obviously you and Rihanna have ‘R’ names,” host Seth Meyers told the rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers.
He asked, “Is this a lock that the third will have an ‘R’ name, do you think?”
“For sure” the “Kids Turned Out Fine” rapper said in response, confirming that the baby’s name will definitely begin with an “R.”
Rocky and Rihanna are already proud parents to sons RZA, who turns 3 on Tuesday, and Riot, 1.
This revelation might cause issues with Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina, who successfully represented the rapper during a lengthy legal battle earlier this year.
The “Praise the Lord” rapper was found not guilty of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in a 2021 shooting incident.
Following the big legal victory, the lawyer revealed that the couple allegedly told him they would be naming their next baby after him.
“They grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby A$AP Joe,’” Tacopina told “Extra” in February. “I said, ‘I’m gonna hold you to that!’”
Following the big baby reveal during fashion’s biggest night Monday, the rapper gushed over how “amazing” it was to share the exciting news with the world.
“We were tired of holding that, and it was time to show the people what we was cooking up,” he told reporters. “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, because we’re definitely happy.”
Rihanna, for her part, opened up about how the third pregnancy has been treating her.
“I’m good, shockingly feeling OK, and not too overwhelmed at the moment. At first, I was kind of like — tired but I’m excited,” the 9-time Grammy winner, 37, told Entertainment Tonight.
When asked if the baby news will subsequently delay the much-awaited release of her ninth studio album, Rihanna had some comforting words for her fans.
“Maybe a couple videos,” she said, “but I can sing.”
