In a chilling case from Pennsylvania, a woman stands accused of orchestrating a sinister plan to harm her husband by luring him into a deadly trap within their garage. Heather Crawford, aged 42, is facing serious charges, including attempted criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and recklessly endangering another person. These charges, detailed in Blair County court documents, were brought to light during her preliminary arraignment on Tuesday.

The disturbing sequence of events reportedly began with a heated argument between Crawford and her husband at their residence on Woodlawn Avenue. During this confrontation, Crawford allegedly brandished her husband’s Ruger handgun, before concealing it once the tension subsided, according to a criminal complaint examined by the Morrisons Cove Herald.

By the following day, Crawford’s anger had seemingly not abated. Reports indicate she devised a plan to lure her husband into the garage under the pretense of needing his attention on something inside. Once he was in the garage, she allegedly blocked the exit and aimed the Ruger at him from her waist.

Thankfully, her husband sensed the impending danger and managed to escape by pushing past her. As he fled, Crawford is accused of firing at least two shots, one of which pierced the garage door while the other struck his jacket, damaging the zipper. Miraculously, he emerged physically unscathed from the ordeal.

Following this harrowing escape, he promptly alerted the Martinsburg Borough Police Department, reporting that Crawford had attempted to take his life. According to the complaint, Crawford later admitted to the attempted attack, as reported by WTAJ, a local CBS affiliate.

Physically, he was unharmed, authorities said, and he contacted the Martinsburg Borough Police Department to tell officers that his wife tried to kill him. Crawford admitted to this, the complaint stated, per area CBS affiliate WTAJ.

When asked why she attempted to kill him, Crawford reportedly responded, “He was evil and had to die.”

Officers said they responded to the home and found the handgun, spent shell casings inside and outside the garage, and damage to the garage door.

Crawford was denied bail during her preliminary arraignment on Tuesday. She is set to reappear in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 5.

Martinsburg is a borough in central Pennsylvania, located about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh.
