JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Flooding has been observed in the Hales Chapel and Oak Grove locales as reported by the Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Management Agency due to flash floods in the vicinity.

The agency said in a social media post that at least two homes are flooded and that residents were escorted to safety. No injuries were reported.

The announcement mentioned that the Red Cross is assisting individuals affected by the flooding. The agency emphasized maintaining “close contact” with TEMA.

Stay vigilant regarding the weather and prepare a safety plan for your family. Keep in mind: Turn Around, Don’t Drown — do not drive on flooded roads! Only dial 911 for urgent situations.
