The Delaware State Police, along with various law enforcement agencies and emergency response teams, are executing a comprehensive emergency response drill on Friday, March 28, at the Fairview Campus in Odessa.
This exercise, planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., is part of an organized initiative to boost preparedness and interagency collaboration in the face of a critical incident. It involves the participation of local enforcement, school personnel, and other emergency services, and is not triggered by any current threat.
Authorities have indicated that a noticeable presence of first responders will be evident in the area during the exercise, especially near the Fairview Campus and nearby locations, such as Westown Movies in Middletown. This drill intends to replicate real-world emergency scenarios to evaluate response protocols, communication systems, and teamwork among different public safety agencies.
Residents and motorists in the vicinity are urged to remain aware of increased activity and to follow any directions from public safety personnel.
